When I did both the level 65 and the level 70 instance parts the NPCs specifically tried to keep out of most AoEs during the boss fights, running hither and yon. Setoto actually circled around the boss to avoid puddles, which was nice, though this apparently does not apply to most trash pulls, which they ignore. An exception is the Morbol, whose breath Zolka sidestepped. Regardless they're all so beefy that it's not really a danger.

Frankly I would rather revisit the disparity between SMN and SCH questlines once more. In HW SMN fought against an Ascian and learned to channel the essence of Bahamut while SCHs were yelled at by a Tonberry and fought a demon that popped out of a pot. In SB SMN deal with an Allagan Death Machine capable of recreating variants of raid bosses in a climactic showdown while SCHs watch a Lalafel flirt with a Tonberry.

At least Landenel was cooler than Prin.
