Suggestion: Parser for self view only

With all the changes in jobs, I really wish I had a parser in game, even if only I could see just my results. Check my heals as well as damage, let me find optimal rotations myself through feel and experimentation rather than reading charts. Let me compare damage increases from certain buffs.

I think this would help people strive to be better in dungeons. Give us little personal challenges that hurt nobody. Aren't se allowing them now for pc?

Technically no, it's a don't ask don't tell sort of deal. They aren't going to actively hunt for people who use parsers, but they aren't going to ignore it if someone reports you for using one in game, especially if you use it to harass.

Also, you may have opened a can of worms.

Seeing your results only would be pointless. OK I'm doing x amount of dps but how do I know if that's good or not? How do I know if the other dps in the same situation are doing twice as much as me, or doing the same, or if I'm outparsing them? There's nothing valuable gained from this idea without relying on knowing what your dps should be from others' parsed results.

That's really not hard to figure out, becuase if the parser only shows YOUR dps what is stopping you from sharing your numbers with those you actually feel comfortable with telling?

On the other hand if EVERYONE sees your dps without your consent, that WILL lead to problems.

I don't find parsers to be exceptionally useful in combat in dungeons. If they were only on the dummies then that could help you in learning your rotations. In dungeons there are too many situational variables, especially if you are comparing one dps to another. Who has to interrupt and dodge more because of positioning for AoEs? Is my high dps in this dungeon because the other jobs are buffing me? etc.

As on all these threads: Yes please! We PS4 players need this so badly!
Own numbers are enough, even just on training dummies would be ok, I just want an actual way of comparing and optimising my rotations. No, Stone, Sky, Sea does not help, to compare rotations you need actual numbers.

You can ask, you can see comparisons online, you can say "this Rotation got me Xdps, this one got me Y dps"

You can see where your drops are, there is alot to be gained with the info.

But parses would be up to you to share, therfore less likely a harassment issue.
If your dps is low your fc can help you, but as it is nobody knows shit about if any changes they make matters unless you're on pc

How useful were those DPS check training dummies just outside of Idylshire?

Not at all, you go through it and it says, "yeah thatshould be fine" tells you absolutely nothing, if I can increase my damage by shuffling things around in rotation to help party, how is that a bad thing?
