OP - you could also make your own party via PF. I did this, myself, yesterday since I was nervous about tanking Shisui for the first time and didn't want to 'speed run' it. Got 2 nice dps and a dps-style healer who joined knowing I was new and would pull one group at a time. Whole dungeon took 27 mins (probably longer than what 'normal' groups run it) with no deaths except the BRD at the last boss. If you want to avoid some of the DF drama and even mean-ness, make your own party with your own expectations. The dps even commented that they had never, ever seen a tank put up a PF request...I guess it is rare :P At least they say it saved them 40+ mins in a queue ^_^v

It helps to look at another perspective though. You're a dps, you've just spent 45+ minutes in a queue, now you're in some low level boring dungeon and the tank spends 5 minutes staring at the floor between pulls. As a dps even with a mostly on pace dungeon you're still looking at almost 3 hours to do 2 roulette queues. Just getting dailies done becomes a serious time commitment, especially when you have other obligations like to work or a family. When that's what our queue looks like it gets rather annoying when you have a tank on a power trip.

DPS pulling ? Easy to manage : let them pull the boss and go out of the room. You'll see them run like chicken and die miserably. They will insult you in chat, you'll LOL and explain them a very interesting mechanic called "Tank pulling".
And if they kick you, you'll find another party in less than 30 sec (it will take them 30 min to find another tank).
    Tank rule the game...

While I really hate it when dps or healers pull for me, I think it's probably combative to start a dungeon by warning everyone like that. Its probably better to wait till it happens then address the problem specifically with the person who did it. If they continue to do it vote to kick the person.

I have been tanking in this game for awhile, and this has been something new since 4.0 launched. Usually I dictated the pace of the dungeons and go, but now it seems, almost every dungeons, there will be a DPS just doing the most asinine things (mainly DPS during a chain pull).

I had this happen earlier during a Level 55 dungeon where the MCH was running ahead of me and pulling the mobs. I understand the thought behind it, "I'll run ahead and grab the mobs for the tank", which is awesome, but if you're going to do that then RUN BACK TO ME INSTEAD OF JUST STANDING THERE.

All in all, many "Tank Mains" have left to go play DPS because 1: new DPS Jobs, and 2: tank meta changing. So many of these DPS maybe old tank players getting impatient with a new tank.

I always thought of tanks as the player who takes one for the team. In dungeons, the tank is not actually needed to do the encounter, but it makes life easier when they're around. You are at the mercy of your healer, and your dps will attack whatever they want with no consideration for you. Your job is to adapt. You hold aggro. You ignore what you want to attack, and attack what your dps are attacking. A raid is where you're needed. A dungeon... not so much.

I've actually always had the opposite experience in dungeons. If one dps goes afk, I normally keep pulling. Sometimes if a healer goes afk and I feel confident, I'll keep pulling. Conversely, if I go down, things generally go to shit until the healer gets me back up.

I had heard that this game was in short supply of tanks and I can see why. The players don't let them do their job and get mad at them for not doing it. Time to roll a dps.
What FallenWings said is correct. You were not doing your job. Stop having a power trip as a tank or healer when things don't go your way. Yes, it's somewhat rude to pull ahead of the tank rather than asking, but all you can do is do your own job. The only time someone pulled ahead was while I was still leveling in Darkhold. I was not as great of a tank back then. But I still tried my best. However, when the guy insulted me for not taking aggro on the mobs (I didn't see them; I was repositioning), that's when I reported him for harassment.
