Beat it second try personally in early access period. Helped a friend beat it first try last night. It's not that hard. Please lower the difficulty of the ffxiv royal menagerie trial. I spent over 12 hours non stop with several parties of all kinda trying to clear this content however its simply Impossible to beat unless I spent Millions in Gil to buy a clear from people who managed to beat it. This game has been a great thing to bring people together and have fun but this latest trial fight has made the game impossible to play I even tried beating it with the 140+ member FC I am part of and simply It just cannot be beaten even with understanding of all the mechanics of the fight he deals far too much damage repeatedly. Please Lower this difficulty or make trials like this completely optional and no longer part of the story line as its ruining a game I have played since 1.0

Here's idea how about they fix there server lags and random disconnects. No matter how good you are if you lag or game freezes on you most likely you will die or group will wipe. If they don't then it needs nerfed.
This is the exact reason as to why I haven't even attempted it yet, dealing with 90002 errors, disconnects, server lag during instances has really put me off trying it, considering there is not much room for error in this fight.
He's not had as hard as he should be, and I hope SE makes EX and a super savage version
So I was in three different duty finder parties before I managed to get one to clear it. Maybe I just have bad luck for this trial, because everything else in Stormblood my parties were able to clear. First party couldn't even get past the action time manuever event thing. I was like...uh what?!!!! Just hit a freaking button to pass it! Being the lone person on the platform afterwards was a strange thing. Second party, same thing--but only half the people couldn't pass it. Third party, first try only the healers die due to them being unable to clear the action time mechanic, healers get mad at the rest of the party for their own screw up and leave, we replace them, and then the entire party clears on the second try with the new healers who knew how to press a button, any button.
This fight doesn't need to be nerfed, people just need to learn to pay attention.
LOUISOIX DIED SO YOU COULD PLAY 2.O
God forbid a literal dragon god (that went toe to toe with the next big raid boss) isn't completely faceroll. Please nerf
/s
Learn the fight, if you can't understand what's going on there's a ridiculous amount of resources throughout the internet and explain it to your group members in case they don't. It's that simple, there's nothing overwhelming about the fight.
Unfortunately i have no doubt you will get your way, just like you people have been since i remember (going back all the way to closed beta, where everyone cried that using antidote was too hard).

It's not really that hard...
If you're having trouble, they'll nerf it in a couple of months :/
I'm a female player who plays a male character.
Shocker....
I understand where he is at. I had the same issue with Rav EX With DF "Clear" party it took me like a week and half to have a clear. Despite everyone knows mechanic there is always one more people makes mistakes which leads to constant wipes. If you want to clear it, you have to do it with right people or you will end up wasting a lot of time for yourself and people you are doing it with. It could be DPS issue or healing issue but the fight is not Impossible for sure.
It really seems like there's only 2 things that would consistently wipe a group trying to clear this: healers that can't keep up with the damage (it is a ton for a story instance, from my previous experience) and/or DPS not targeting the tail.
I think it's healers that drag down groups so that they can't possibly clear. None of the mechanics do enough dmg to wipe out players that are topped off, and the knock-offs come far enough from one another there should always be enough time to res them back up. Healers dropping early and getting hit by the Weakness debuff is probably also contributing. It wasn't until this fight that i really noticed the hit to your heal/second when you have Weakness up as a healer.
But, I think the biggest failure is DPS not killing the tail -- it drags the fight on so much longer and you start getting into the really hectic last 25% of his HP and the fight just drags at that point.
Took me 4 tries, first group wiped 3 times and disbanded, 2nd group cleared it on the first attempt. I'd say the difficulty is just right and only in need to an Echo buff come 4.1.
imo.
I'm glad i got to do this fight tonight before it was nerfed, we wiped once and tbh it was a hell of alot of fun I enjoyed it very much, I feel sorry for those who will have to deal with the faceroll version of the fight.
