Golden Saucer Needs More Multiplayer Games

Golden Saucer is nice, and has some fun stuff, but I feel like it would not be hard to make better. Sure we have racing, triad, and Verminion, but I think there could be more added in easily that can be a nice change in gameplay.

Give us some competitive simple games to play with our friends. Something like pong, or better yet, air hockey! How bout eorean chess, checkers, and poker? Simple games you can make in an hour with flash (just an example) could really make the Saucer more fun. Mini competitive games! Make it feel like a real arcade of fun!

And while we're at it- GATEs should be 15 mins apart, not 30 mins.

I agree that the gold saucer needs to have less time between GATEs and more variations of GATEs to play.

Agreed; I've said it over the years- it would really help the game if there were more "things to do" that had nothing to do with the actual main gameplay loop (fighting, levels, getting gear, gathering).

Basically stuff you can sit down with your friends and just enjoy while chatting.
For me, as many simple table top games like you'd find in one of those "30-in-1 games!" sets (Chess, checkers, etc),
Some simple "legit" arcade games like air hockey or even space invaders.
A functional deck of cards (so, the ability to have a "hand" of cards, draw cards, pick up cards from a "table", place cards face up or down on a "table", shuffle them).

Chocobo Races and Lord of Verminion need updates.

Preferably, I'd like to see Verminion turned into something akin to Pokemon or Digimon where you send out 2 or 3 minions versus and opponent's and give them commands on what moves they should use.

Mahjong is great but too complicated so you don't have instantaneous fun with it.
Simple cards and dice games would be nice.
Verminion and Chocobo racing are....not great and indeed need updates. Dare I say it, even full reworks. (Chocobo racing seasons/series would honestly be a good start to popularize the content). They should also simplify breeding and leveling up for the chocobo.

Also another thing to take into consideration for the Gold Saucer as a whole: MGP are worthless.
No matter how fun the minigames can be, if they don't improve the reward structure, it won't attract more players.
If they add one 300k MGP mount every 4 months (which they don't even do), it's clearly not enough. 300k MGP can pretty much be obtained in a month by simply doing fashion report every week and nothing else...

And speaking of rewards, I think people would flock to the Gold Saucer in droves if glamour fear from other FF games were put up as rewards in the Saucer. Glamour is the true end game, after all. Plus, also making certain pieces of gear locked behind dead/severely underrun content would be nice to get as a glamour for high amounts of MGP. The FF11 Bozjan armor and the Elemental armor from Eureka come to mind.
