Dark Knight 60 - 70 Job Quest Questions <spoliers>

So...I really liked the DRK story again in Stormblood but....I am very confused at the ending.

I mean I was along all the way till we go to the last spot and count Fortemps comes up and talks to us....I dont get what if anything he had to do with anything in the story....that just seems very odd unless I am missing something.

Also...never got who/what Myste was.

Myste is the embodiment of WoL guilt and lost innocence due to his or her action with killing other people and losing so many people because WoL was not strong enough to save them. Despite the actions of people WoL killed, they all have love ones and some killed are just people trying to survive or forced into the situation due to uncontrollable circumstances. Others are just doing their jobs while some are just trying to make a living to survive in their cruel condition.

Myste is a combination of Ysayle and Haurchefant appearance since those two hold the strongest recent influence of Guilt left on WoL since they willing sacrificed their own life for the WoL and the WoL was not able to save them. The child appearance represents the Innocence that WoL lost because of his or her actions through the 2.0 to 3.X Journey with children are often used to symbolize innocence.

Oh....I knew the story was deep but man...

I didint make the connection between Myste and Ysayle and Haurchefant...he looked familiar to me but I could place it. When you said that however that made sense.


Also I take it (and I thought this before hand as well) that the "Frey" in the last mission wasnt the Frey that was Sig's friend it was the darkness that we contented with on the very beginning DRK quests correct?

Yes that Frey is the WoL embodiment of his or her anger and frustration we know from level 30 to 50.

Frey only took on that form because the WoL wanted a DRK teacher which resulted in the form we know as Frey.

Myste, like 30-50's Fray, is an embodiment of part of the Warrior of Light's soul. Myste embodies guilt and doubt.

It's rather implied that his appearance is based on a younger Haurchefant with Ysayle's hairstyle, signifying the Warrior of Light's guilt over their inability to save the two. He first manifests just outside Fortemps Manor, after all, and Count Edmont's appearance at the end of the chain and mentioning of the former further suggests this.
