worst idea ever , even wow removed defense , and we for sure dont need itHow to "fix" this (if we really need to do it anyway):
- Remove awareness.
- Add defense as a stat instead of tenacity.
- You need a minimum amount of defense to be immune to criticals hits and crushing blows.
- No enough defense and the tank is one shooted by a crushing blow from a boss.
- Put VIT in every accessory and add STR to fending.

This end up being pointless since they either would have to set it high enough we couldn't even queue into content below a certain threshold or it's so low, it's wholly irrelevant. Keep in mind, the first few weeks of Savage, we're under the minimum ilvl. How to "fix" this (if we really need to do it anyway):

You can swap accessories once you are in the instance, even if it would bring you under the minimum ilvl.

Also it doesn't help the fact that Tenacity is pure garbage, so I rather keep my slaying 270 accessories.
I have absolutely zero issues with threat tanking everything in the game currently in full vit gear. That said, when raid time comes and I trust my healers more, the ONLY thing that matters is having enough HP to survive the tank buster, period. Any additional dps you can squeeze out of losing whatever's left over just means that you're doing the fight faster and making things easier for everyone involved. Will they lock str accessories before the raid? Maybe. And I hope they do. But until then, str accessories will be mandatory for savage raiders unless the encounter has a mechanic that hits you for 60k through invuln
ANYTHING at this point that takes ANY LITTLE THING away from tanks, no matter what it is, is gonna get a big NO from me, on account of there being so few tanks already, and queue times being horrendously long and becoming longer, that any nerf is going to hurt the entire playerbase much more than it benefits a few narrow-minded traditionalists who rather see tanks be blocks of stone swaffling you with a foam bat.

Who's being more narrow-minded?ANYTHING at this point that takes ANY LITTLE THING away from tanks, no matter what it is, is gonna get a big NO from me, on account of there being so few tanks already, and queue times being horrendously long and becoming longer, that any nerf is going to hurt the entire playerbase much more than it benefits a few narrow-minded traditionalists who rather see tanks be blocks of stone swaffling you with a foam bat.
I mean, the mindset has literally been "if you're tanking in (tank stance), you're doing it wrong" for the last 2 years
Tanking was fine in ARR. Savage raids in HW took tank requirements it to another level. SE corrected their poor balancing by changing the tank damage formula. Then SE decided that was stupid and changed damage formula back to str.
It makes no sense, and I agree with the community that it's a terrible design choice (though I think we'd find different reasons to claim it's terrible)
All we really need is a little consistency from SE - not asking for much.
Either make tanks hearty DPS officially, get rid of the damage penalties and all that - or get rid of the dps actions altogether and design content where mitigation and handling mechanics matter more than straight up damage. Consistency - one way or the other just make it consistent.
,I'm gonna use them until i see a reason for more HP. If I'm in a dungeon and the healer asks me no to use them i have no problem changing and i will for them, but i ran dungeons all day with pug healers and they all had no problems with my HP. Since i started using them tanking is just more fun i enjoy it way more, before something felt off but now i feel like its the class is should have been.
So I thought I would give it a try and I went into ex lakshmi and I had no problems with my lower HP and my dps was waaaayyy higher. I think doing it this was is only good if you know the fight and know when to use defensive cooldowns. I wouldn't do this in regular dungeons when I'm doing big pulls. I would however switch to str accessories when my party get to the boss.
