DPS why don't you know your rotations?

You're delusional if you think playing a DPS is all about Rotations, It's more about using the most priority skills, and they're not always in the same order.

Crap, The primal just went invincible for some time.

Shadow Fang just faded from the boss while it was invincible, i need that to buff all my attacks by 10% Do i follow my "rotation" or apply the 10% debuff?


Time to use my level 70 utlimate ability which requires me to stand still for a few seconds

Hmmm... my Ninjatsu is few seconds off CD, if i wait i can reset it by using Ten-Chi-Jin or follow my rotation blindly and waste a free Ninjatsu? wait, i can't use it anyway, THERE'S AOE ON THE GROUND! do i stand still and use it anyway and get hit so i can follow my "rotation"?

And i can keep going on forever, it's different for every single fight.

Unless you mean something else by "rotation" enlighten me.

Rotation ≠ situational management.
Knowing your rotation but the fight interfering with it and/or making you either cancel it or delay it a bit, is not the same as just chaining wrong abilities. One actual recent example on level 70 content:


Tank sees 2 good aoe dps jobs in the party and grabs 2 pulls together, BLM casts fire 3 (so far so good!), then proceeds to cast thunder, then hardcasts flare with full mp, after transpose, he does single target fire 1 (not even 4). You can imagine how the rest of the dungeon went.

Tried explaining, ignored chat, wat do. Is it worrying that people get to max level content doing this.
