3x4 hotbar setting... why?

Why? Why on earth are the keybinds VERTICAL. I thought the whole point of this hotbar setting was to conform to the 3x4 (12 button) mouse so it'd be easier to keybind but instead you just gave us the same issue we already dealt with if we fiddled with the UI.

Why is this hotbar 3 vertical columns?

It sounds like her complaint is that it goes

 2     6    10
 3     7    11
 4     8    12

instead of

 1     2     3
 4     5     6
 7     8     9
10    11    12

The point of the different hotbar arrangements isn't just to accommodate anyone's manipulandum of choice. It's to give people different hotbar arrangement options.

What issue do you have with bindings here? Knowing the arrangement of the buttons, can you not bind them by pressing them in the appropriate order? You're not limited to pressing your mouse buttons in row-major order. Just press them in column-major order while you're binding them.

it does the second one. I just tried setting mine up and mapping some keybinds ctrl+shift+alt+number and they mapped horizontally across the hotbar

I do sorta get it. I mean, it was a little awkward rebinding for NUM pad. But just because it seemed to be arranged wrong for the situation I wanted to use it for, doesn't mean there aren't other configurations where the arrangement makes sense.
