

God damnit, just level the old fashioned way!
If you could get 45-50 in 3 hours of EXP in a Stronghold then it was really broken, thing that they might have fixed and now you might take more time leveling up your classes, which brings up some of my points:

You forgot the main reason why we play
you know, the thing we had in exp parties pre-patchfunOf course that isn't to say that post patch ones aren't fun, I haven't even been in one... but it should be one of your main points for pretty much anything in the game
i prefer soloing and hate partying for leveling.
i prefer partying for all forms of bosses, instances, and anything with endgame and hate doing any of it solo/duo/trio.
i also speak for millions of other talented hardcore players on the planet who partly dont play this game because of the leveling system.

You can have your fun just fine even now, just try it =)
You don't need any knowledge about your EXP get, because when you have fun you'll not even notice you've got almost the level. Just go and try!
wtf at make everything AOE so you dont have to play the game? thats the worse case of nonsense extremism ive seen all day... and i live in los angeles.past tense/present tense: rendered, renders. But yea lets make everything aoe so we don't have to play the game. We could all just spam aoe weaponskills all day and not worry about strategy.
sounds like the A+ mechanic that made this game the #1 MMO of the yea.......oops.
first off, only MRD and and CNJ were able to effectively AOE at all. THM wasnt that good at damage so AOEing things didnt really exist for any other class if you remember correctly.
second, having to rely on such a high level spell for your only means of crowd control and LOLOLOL "having to pay attention to what your fighting" brings you right back to the terrible horrible laughable days of early FFXI and LOLOL everquest single mob at a time battles.... which are regarded as terrible ways of grouping by many many people.
Third, #1 games of the modern age rely on a good amount of AOE which is partly why they are popular
Fourth, the battle system has been noted in countless interviews, including recent ones, as being quite slow even when we had AOE. now it is literally slower.
Fifth, the game has a good amount of mob linkage yet all classes, except THMs fire spells and MRDs ending combos, are now all single target. this means MRD is now even more similar to LNC because they are both single target DPS classes- one having a bit more defense. SO why cant we have 1 melee class with 1 or 2 default AOE abilities to help out with damaging more than 1 mob at a time.
Sixth, it speeds things up a bit and many many people find hitting more than just 1 thing at a time is fun in itself.
oh yeah and Seventh, what about soloing leves? do none of your leves spawn more than 1 mob at a time?
i constantly have to fight several mobs during leves at once and not having any AOE options makes things not only more frustrating, but it slows my battles all together. i dont have any enfeebling options to be able to even take on two dodos at once. or like when the last 3 cactuars appear right in front of my face and murder me even though i was able to rock the rest of the entire leve.
I try to take on more than 1 mob at a time during leves anyway because its more fun. now i cant really do that.

I EXP'd just last night, and I'd hardly say it's broken. 19 -> 24 in...1-2hrs? Quite the mish-mash of jobs as well (2x PGL, 2x GLD, THM, CNJ, MRD, LNC). We were doing Cactuars, and it was GLD/MRD crowd control until they all died, with the occasional THM Fire to hurt them all.
*shrug* It was fun, and great EXP, so I'm happy.![]()



I remember the days of Everquest and how it was said only people with extreme Gamer ADD and can't look at the same spot for 5 seconds complained about it, which I suppose is why game designers these days make mobs have 10 HP and bosses take at least 3 hits to kill.



I think its more to do with people wanting to have fun actually.
That being said I'm glad they have slowed the XP down a bit.
