you don't have to google just take a look at this fan-glamour site: https://ffxiv.eorzeacollection.com/gearsets you can filter cls, races etc. Or go to the http://xivdb.com its a database for gear/minions/quests as well. not that user-friendly like the first one but there should be every item which you can find ingame. some of them provide user screenshots on the armor-section as well.

Have fun browsing through it - but be aware: if you are like me (addicted to glamour) it can waste HOURS of your lifetime

I've been wanting another "heavy armored" dps since I started playing.

I can agree to this. I much preferred DRK in FFXI than I do in XIV. Though I haven't leveled the job so my input is a bit moot. However, the short few things I have done with the class, it is still fun to play. As far as the next DPS to be added that would be heavy armored, I honestly am drawing a blank. I've heard Blue Mage is being considered down the line which I also enjoyed in FFXI very much, but to those rumors SE also plans on making it a tank class. I completely understand where you're coming from, but you have to admit, there are plenty of DPS jobs already and I fear SE will not add another for some time.

There's a good bit of heavier armor sets for the melee jobs without being a DRG. The raid sets from Coil and Alexander are all at least plated for the most part for all melee.

If you like the DRK look, you might like Odin's Dark Divinity set which is very heavy armor and available for all Disciples of War.

damn how could I forget one of my favorite sets at all x_X .... you also have to ways to obtain it 1. Odin-Fate (one-part armor) and 2. Odin Trial (separate parts which makes glam way easier). ^^

Not sure if this has made it to the Mog Station yet but this is a set that's equipable by any job and is dyeable, so it's possible to look armored no matter what job you chose to play. Additionally there are other armor looking sets you could glamor for all the melee DPS. Maybe try Samurai but glamor on some more heavy-looking armor? The Gordias gear was also mentioned as a possibility that might work in addition to this.
