That would make it quite the exception to how stats are handled. Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Mind, Tenacity, and Piety all state who they do and do not work for. Why would Direct Hit be the only one not to?

Guys, it works.
Put on old gear that had accuracy (it got converted to Direct Hit) and fight stuff. Large font, no ! damage numbers means direct hit. Larger yet font and double !! means direct critical hit. Like always, ! for critical.
Scored plenty of both level 60-66 while I was still wearing my i270 stuff.
You can get crit direct hit on tanks, it has been confirmed. Dervy also confirmed that direct hit rate at base value (364) is 0% so yeah direct hit stat works on tanks.
I want answers for this, le bump. Like most tanks I looked at the stat and said why wouldn't I meld this! Now I regret life!

Direct hit does work, it just is not on the new gear.
When I first started out wearing my 3.xx stuff it was great, I was getting direct hits all over the place.
I believe the 0% because I ahve not seen a single one since going to the new tank gear (which never has direct hit on it).

Meh! I'm at 1K+ tenacity on my PLD, and my survival rate increased from a defensive perspective. It gives healers more time to dps if they want without worrying about me losing a lot of HP.
I do Tenacity > Determination, but I think I want to put some Direct Hit in there. I'll see when I start buying Verity gear (I have Tomes, but haven't bought anything yet).

How do you know it isn't from the better defense on your gear?Meh! I'm at 1K+ tenacity on my PLD, and my survival rate increased from a defensive perspective. It gives healers more time to dps if they want without worrying about me losing a lot of HP.

The returns on tenacity have already been posted......they are poor.

At the time of my post, it was because I was using the same gear, removed the Melds, and added Tenacity. Maybe it's a mental thing.
I may be moving back to Crit/Det/Skill Speed, though. Unlike in Heavensward, I'm finding myself now being able to juggle both stances. Since auto-attacks affect how fast Sword Oath gauge fills up, Skill Speed seems ideal, especially when I'm OT in Susano, to toss Intervention on the MT while Stormsplitter is casting.

Skillspeed only affects auto attack damage apparently, not their speed. At the time of my post, it was because I was using the same gear, removed the Melds, and added Tenacity. Maybe it's a mental thing.
