Samurai and Aether how do they use it?

I know samurai use aether to enhance their slashes to travel a small distant but also increase the slashes itself.

But it's 2 moves ingame Yukikaze and fuga where they use ice and wind and the midara setsugekka.
I can't understand how they able to do it without medium or a jutsu.
Can anyone explain to me how they able to do it?

And how other way they use aether?

While you were fighting dragons, they were studying the blade.

    I donno.

Also don't know why my conjourer of the elements can only use wind and earth.

Oh wait. I can splash someone too. Doesn't hurt them... just a mild nuisance

The sword/katana acts as the focus for the skill which is why elements such as Ice and wind are infused into the sword to perform these actions.

Ageha, as another example, is infused with Azure flames when the SAM use that skill.

It seems to me that every non-Garlean combatant utilizes aether on some level (even if they're not consciously trying to). As for the player character job classes (machinist excluded?), I think it's likely that most supernatural feats activate the user's aether in some way. I don't care how angry a warrior gets, I doubt they're able to survive some of the stuff Holmgang lets them walk away from without some form of magic.

IIRC my Machinist lore correctly, the box on their hip converts their aether into bullets, possibly makes some of the other gadgets they use as well.

More specifically, it converts lightning aspected aether into the ammunition that they use for all of their shots. Not to mention Flamethrower is more than likely fire aspected aether.
