Every 1k in line is about an hour or a bit more. Right now, I'm 4.1k and it is 6pm and I won't be on until 10.
It's getting ridculous honestly. I've been patient enough but it's been over a week since SB has been out [EA]
and nothings changed, at all. Hard reset Balmung everyday or something or fix the AFK crafters.
It feels like folks moving did nothing for Balmung because of the AFKers. I wish it was reportable. We can't
even go into our apartments. Even when we finally log in, you have to pray to the twelve you don't
get the near inevitable 90k. Just tiresome already.

I'm seeing a lot of complaints that people can't get online to play, followed by a lot of complaints that "this long" after release it shouldn't be so bad.
If nobody can get online to make progress, it's gonna take longer for people to get done what they want to get done.

The fact of the matter is people like the larger servers and refusing to accommodate for them is not great - splitting everything up into tiny sized servers is not going to be a fix in that these are healthy communities and people chose the server a lot because it has a history and is one of the largest.
Ontop of everything, it has been awhile since launch - at least to have problems of this degree. I say given a 90k/dc which happens pretty frequently leads to a 2hr+ queue over and over again rendering the game almost unplayable a lot of the time. Things were never anywhere near this bad when HW came out and frankly I don't think it's only because of afkers - the game is more populated in general now and it's feeling the strain it feels like.

I wouldn't be complaining if the queue was actually moving.
The problem is, the queue isn't moving.
I was disconnected while I was cooking dinner at around 5:45 and came back to a 3.7k queue. There were periods where I sat at a single spot in excess of ten to fifteen minutes. It's ridiculous. Square Enix seriously needs to either add disconnection forgiveness to give people the ability to log back in (or get priority in the queue) if they're able to get back within two minutes, or they need to fix the exploit allowing people to stay logged in by talking with NPCs.
I would move off of Balmung in a heartbeat if my Free Company would move, as well, and if the server we were going to had a sizable roleplaying population, but Square has yet to provide an adequate incentive for entire Free Companies to move off of congested servers.
My friends and I have left Balmung and we haven't regretted it. Honestly, the cross server PF makes Gilgamesh obsolete as the "Raider server" IMO.
Got a random 90k around 4:30 Pm Eastern my 4k queue let me back in at 9:10 pm Eastern. Now I cant even queue for anything. My leveling tank queue is more than 30 minutes.

What SE needs to do, if they're not going to enforce the afk timer and ban people for exploiting, is to periodically take down any zone server with a retainer bell in it and purge the game of the 100s to 1000s of afk players. Cities, housing wards, housing interiors, and the endgame hubs all taken down every 45 minutes with system warnings broadcasted every 5 minutes starting at 30 minutes until zone refresh. The AFK exploiters has become so bad that SE needs to step in and patch it so being afk while doing anything will kick you out and change it so the second you get the afk status it boots you.
Even on Balmung HW it wasn't exploited like this and queue went very fast, now even at 1800 queue after 2 hours its down to 900 because half the server has people afking and staying on the server 24/7
~sigh~
Just got 90k after waiting for 2 1/2 hours, now back in a 2.5k queue to log in.
Can't play, but I pay.
Thank you.
