What Should I Do? - Road To 60 Question

Hey Guys. Just looking for general Advice.

I recently Transferred to Omega from Moogle but i havent played in a while but about 3-4 of my friends started playing with the SB release.

So I got a warrior lvl 59 - Miner 45 BSM 40ish. and that's it. I'm at the end of ARR storyline. However I see that everyone is taking advantage of the Double Experience on the new Characters.

Does this EXP Buff end soon? Because I'm torn between making a new character which will allow me to reach rank 59 in all jobs twice as fast where as i keep the character i got i will fall behind my friends when they inevitably catch up with me.

What i'm asking i guess is. Is the road to 60 buff permanant or will it be pulled one day randomly. Or if a character is made with the buff - does that Buff stay as I've seen even if you rank to 60 in one class. The experience boost is still applied to other jobs.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

The buff is not permanently but will only be removed or adjusted when the servers have stabilized themselves a bit in population. There's a link on the lodestone, that will tell you the changes, for some over population servers, as well as already designated worlds, this is going to change quicker/sooner then it will be for new additional worlds, however since EU data center added already another server, it might or might not end soon, my best bet would be the release of 4.1 or 4.2. However there's no official statement made by SE just yet and therefore nobody can really predict if and when these changes are being made.

You have over 500 quests before even reaching the stormblood area, if you just finished the old ARR story line, that doesn't even include the sheer amount of MSQ, dungeons and side quests the SB area throws at you on top of that. Given that this is a factor, you might not want to start a new character and finish your current one first. However if you are not planning on reaching stormbloods content quickly and have no desire to start raiding within the next 4 weeks as those get implemented, then by all means start a new character and secure your gil as well as 15 day free playtime bonus.
