OMG, this is gold. To my signature, you go.

You have your enmity combo ready for after you provoke and the other tank isn't going to take it off you. OT should be in dps stance at this point and he should never take the boss from you since in 4.0 they made it so tanks don't use their enmity combo as part of their dps rotatoin.
Uhm, well. With Shrik none of the tanks need to use their emnity combo, or even swap stances. They just voke, and you give them shrik without interrupting your DPS rotation. I tank Susano Ex with Sword Oath, so does the other tank.

This needs to become official text in Shirk's tooltip!

Shirk should always be brough for 8man duties, it trivalizes aggro management and increase tank dps, as well as there not being anything thats worth giving it up for after you filled your 5 role slots. so yeah use it for 8man duties, not needed for dungeons though.

I've been using this skill alot and it's by far the best role action skill for 8man where there is 2 tanks. A tank never needs to prepare a enmity combo for swaps or enter tank stance anymore. Makes it much easier for tanking and damage

Shirk is amazing. If I am the OT I use it to give the MT extra enmity as well.

With a NIN in the group also.....fun times to be had.

I think it's useful in Emanation EX. What I think I'm seeing is the off tank provoke and then shirk the main tank so he stays at #2 on the enmity list so he's always targeted by the blue marker cleave. Otherwise, Shirk would be good at any point where you'd want to go all out and not have to worry about taking the mob back from the main tank if that's still a thing.

Shirk is a godsend. You can do tank swaps without ever having to hit an aggro combo, you can just keep dpsing no problem. It also keeps you and your co-tank further away from that monk/samurai in your party.

Tank A (in tank stance) has 100% (top) threat.
Tank B (in dps stance) has whatever threat, doesn't matter.

Tank B Provokes, Tank A shirks. Tank B now has 125% threat instantly.
Tank A Provokes back, Tank B shirks. Tank A now has 156% threat in 2 gcds, if required.

Basically speaking, the tanks can, whenever they want to, up to once per two minutes, give themselves a free 56% threat increase on current threat. It doesn't rely on the generation of threat from the offtank at all; the only number that matters is the current threat of the main tank. Provoke sets the offtank to the same value, then shirk increases from there.

You don't have to use them together either; even just using on tank swaps effectively cements the new tank without any issue whatsoever. As soon as you see the enmity change from provoke, you shirk, and they are 100% tanking.
