Why Shirk?

It reads like that Ninja ability but is a Tank exclusive. It makes sense to be used on an off tank. But I don't think an off Tank in offensive mode can generate enough enmity for it to matter. It makes sense for a Healer or Dps to toss enmity to the Tank. Or better, if it took 25% from a target instead. Its such a specific situational trait was there any reason why this would be considered a use full for a tank in the current set up? Aside from putting it on that one guy that's been criticizing the tank.

I thought it was intended to help with tank swaps. Then again, I'm not playing tank much, so I dunno how useful it would be to do that.

If you have no NIN in your party, helping out the first tank in building extra enmity is better for everyone. Diverting 25% of your current enmity means that when you provoke off the MT, your own enmity will be 25% higher too. If the other tank then shirks during the swap, both tanks' enmity lead on the boss increases, and so on. It's useful for raids and trials only.

Or if you want to troll Duty Finder dungeons, I guess.

Tank A has hate.
Tank B vokes
Tank A skirts tank B.
Tank B now has a pretty good enmity lead.

Or alternatively give the main tank control of the swap.

Tank A has hate. Tank B vokes early.
Tank A however keeps hate eats the tank buster and then skirts tank B to transfer hate.

Seems like a pretty strong skill really

This. Shirk is amazing. And in some fights it is almost necessary since it ensures that the 2 tanks are first and second in the aggro list which means that I won't die to the blue mark mechanic as a sam.

Shirk is how you high five the other tank for the tag out. They raise their hand up with provoke and you tag it with shirk. Don't leave them hanging.

Take it a stel further:

Tank A pulls
Tank B vokes
Tank A shirks tank B
Tank A vokes (preferably after a few moments to utilize tank B's spare mitigation cds)
Tank B shirks tank A

That's effectively duplicating a fraction of the initial tank's aggro, which is never a bad thing since both tanks can use less aggro combo.

Shirk right now is probably for world prog groups since i've been doing the new primal extreme none of them bother doing shirk except for me so i guess if your casual player you can just bring provoke just fine.

If your attempting world prog/savage content bring shirk.

I've been using this skill alot and it's by far the best role action skill for 8man where there is 2 tanks. A tank never needs to prepare a enmity combo for swaps or enter tank stance anymore. Makes it much easier for tanking and damage
