When teaming up for queues, the tanks lose their 'Adventurer in Need' bonus, so they need to compensate their 'losses' with extra gil.
After all, money can be used to buy goods and services.

I'm not judging or telling you to do anything different, you do you, however, the idea that helping others out with content is bad is a weird one to me, and the general attitude towards helping others in this thread has not been good, I'm extremely disappointed by it if I'm honest.

Partially incorrect. Tanks only lose that bonus if it's a full premade. If you take along one or 2 DPS and zero healers for example, you're still pulling someone from the DF pool and therefore you still get your bonus.
Source: Hard experience from doing it myself.
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
I usually go with a friend of mine, which is a healer - We split the cash and go on our ways. Enough DPS around that they'll consider our offers.
There is nothing disgraceful about it. If a tank/healer can make extra gil from their job then why not? Hand/Land classes can make gil off players for doing their job so why not War/Magic classes? Just because it's not the norm doesn't make it disgraceful.
I only level tanks. Once I a done with MSQ on WAR and I have farmed that job up to keep pace wit the next story patch and upcoming content, I'll be right back in the DF queue with my PLD and DRK. I always queue random after I check with FC to see if anyone needs a tank for speedy queues.
I like tanking in dungeons, and I am long past the point where one or two bad teammates in a DF will bother me even a little. If I get "helper" DPS doing pulls, stealing enmity, etc...I don't much sweat it, especially since SB decided to stealth nerf tanking under the guise of shifting the HW speed run paradigm to something more traditional.
But I'll be in the queue. No worries.
Well you know what they say. A fool and his wallet are easily parted.
You're nuts if you think I'm going to pay that kind of price to get a dungeon done![]()
