Is it really the button mash segment that ties up so many people? Could it be that the instructions are not clear?

Here is what I mean, with the active time manuver bar, it show one button being pressed, yet it will respond to multiple buttons. I think a image of multiple buttons might suit it better.

The instructions are clear. I'm referencing discomfort. I imagine on the controller, I'd use my thumb which is more preferable for me. Index finger mashing on the other hand...

Fun fact on that note: PC users actually have an advantage here, as left clicking the button and hitting spacebar do the same thing - progress the bar -, so you can use both your hands to double the inputs.

It works with pretty much any key or button as long as you're not typing in the chat box at the time -- Yoshi-P wanted it to be very accessible. You can do creative things like alternate keys, or play mock piano symphonies on your keyboard, if mashing a single button would cause discomfort.

Did this fight as WAR with a party after..3 tries?

It's a lot of similar mechanics just with small tweaks, then you cleave the tail when it comes down. There's no need to tweak this fight. SE already gives you ilv290 gear at 70, so go get that and come back.

I was more nervous b/c that active time thing kept coming up from people, I was on controller so that didn't mean much at all. Then again, you want to button tap go play Dragon Ball GT, Final Bout and win a power struggle.

Apparently not clear enough, as from what your referencing by you still think it is only one button at a time. I just fat-roll my thumb across all four buttons while hitting the trigger fingers at the same time. K/M users in my group said wasd+left/right clicks on mouse did it just as fast. It is beyond far from uncomfortable when done properly. lol Not to say I approve of the mechanic really, I find it a bit childish for being "active".
