Toneberry: Obvious Botting in The Dravanian Hinterlands

I encountered this yesterday while trying to level my Samurai. The FATES seemed to be getting finished so fast; there was a big group going around. Since the group finished it so fast I was only able to get a Bronze or Silver medal. I asked for an invite to the party but no response. Then I noticed something off on one of the FATES.






To try and be able to actually land some hits on monsters I went to the spawn area since they were being killed too fast by the group.

Where once the group was killing everything, now they were just standing there while I leashed and controlled the spawns. Obvious botting. No player would just stay there. They'd move to where I was holding agro to still participate in the fate.

This group has been ruining FATES for at least the past 12 hours. Please Square Enix do something about this! Not only is it not fair, it also impacts the enjoy-ability & ability to progress throughout the game. This areas is used to grind fates for the last 3 levels or so to 60 and these bots are making it very hard if not impossible to do that.

If they are botting, then these people need to be permabanned tbqfh. Disgusting. I hope you reported them in game.

Now for the... not so nice part. You need to censor their names. These forums have a no naming and shaming policy, which could lead to you being banned from the forums.

Edit: Mentors in that pack too. Why am I nor surprised. xD

I agree, that's most definitely botting, though you're kinda sticking your neck out by not censoring the image names.

The easiest way to get the names is to switch to the battle tab and take a screenshot while they are engaged on one group of enemies, it will list off everyone who lands a hit.

As for how we all know it's botting, aside from what you observed, the people who make these kinds of bots tend to brag that they won't be caught or banned because players don't notice. Well, here's a great example of players noticing.

It's actually too easy to stumble upon people doing these things unfortunately.
