[dev1081] Achievement NPC's

Achievement NPC - i think its a great idea you have to go talk to the guy's to unlock it but i don't like is there is 8 different NPCS and there everything where,

My idea is 1 NPC in every city that will unlock all you're achievements for you like in ffxi for xbox. it would same people a lot of time and running about the place trying to find them.

Or even set 1 guy in each land that will unlock them all but place him out somewhere where there would be a bit of walking to.

I disagree, the direction this game is headed, we need something to get people out of Ul Dah.. Still..

I disagree, as well. I enjoyed the differing personalities of the NPCs and their reasoning behind the achievements. I think the Seasonal guy was my favorite, although I did enjoy the Materia one.

All in all, it took me under an hour and about 10 anima to unlock everything. (I was lazy and ported to Emerald Moss but in my defense Gridania is so loooooong!) Of course, it did help that when I logged in I was in Ul'dah and my return point is Gridania, but that's beside the point.


With OP's reasoning, we should have one quest NPC in every city because right now those little buggers are everywhere. And all they do is force us to run around needlessly.


Though, I will give SE credit for adding the achievement NPCs to the map. That was a nice, helpful touch.

yea nice vaild points for keeping but i still think it's still to many people spread out like i said before i wouldnt mind them out in the field doesnt have to be a town that way you will get ur guys out of ul'dah.

I can agree that only being told that in order to unlock all the achievements you need to talk to 8 NPCs found somewhere out in the Eorzea is a rather daunting task, at first. It's a big world. Even 8 NPCs spread out across just one zone alone would take a while to locate them all. Something which is being fixed come 1.21 when they'll add the NPC's names and locations to the Achievement UI.

But beyond that, I see no pressing need to reduce the 8 NPCs down to 1. Traveling isn't even a big issue nowadays. Between airships, chocobos, and teleports, moving around the world is a piece of pie.
