Has anyone figrued this out? it seems that spell speed isnt that great for us so what gear is good to invest in?

It's probably going to be a while before it's figured. We've got an entire new stat to play with. The restraining factor of Accuracy that helped anchor calculations dropped out of consideration, and we don't know the full availability of Endgame gear (what stats are distributed on what gear) to help with calculations. So much of what you're going to get right now is napkin math. Just equip the highest ilvl gear-set we have for the meanwhile as base stats are still going to weigh the heaviest. Wait till the new Tomestone and Raid gear comes out - that will be about when we get Stat Weights and BiS calls.
Crit > DHit > Det = SS
From the minimal testing others have done, this seems to get you the biggest spike dmg, especially when a crit and direct hit both proc. However, Determination might take the place of Direct Hit if the recent buff proves to be worth it once stat weighs come out.
Uh... I have read somewhere in reddit that spell speed was going to be the go to stat for red mage, not sure how right or wrong that is tho.Crit > DHit > Det = SS

It's debatable the level of impact spellspeed will have as it does not affect our melee combo and ideally half of our casting is instant at minimum. There could be an argument for its influences on spell GCD, but when compared to the benefits of other, more uniform damage increases Spellspeed is in greater doubt for Red Mage than it is any other caster class.
Likewise, our potency is averaged at around 300, with little variance to that aside from our end of our Melee Burst combo. This could be an argument for more stable increases such as DET and dHit over Crit, or to take a chance on more frequent spikes on Crit, especially given the power spikes from dCrits.
In the end, Minimal trials won't be enough to make such global calls. We're going to need to see what the increase values for each stat are by stat weight and their effect on Red Mage particularly (which means extensive damage trials) before making a call.
I thought so at first too, but it doesn't actually drop the CD by that much.
So Now I've gone with the Crit > DHit > Det = SS
And its surprisingly effective.
i have went with this with my current gear, avoiding spell speed gear as much as possible. which means i have some 300 ilvl gear over 310. but my crit is at 1597, det 1169 and direct hit at 1496. spell speeds at 663 xD
Well, it's not uncommon for people on reddit to be very, very wrong.
Spellspeed is the last thing that RDM will need. We have dualcast, so that alone makes it unattractive, plus we don't have any DoTs.
