Lol people crack me up on here, are people seriously crying about the content dying too quickly? You all knew that Moogle was going to die within hours of the patch unless people were seriously delusional.

Lets say the drop rates on content = bad(D.ring bad) in FFXIV:

"Oh my god, did Tanaka create this?"
"Oh my god, SE fix it, 0/65!"

MMO's these days cannot keep up the pace with putting out new content to keep people busy. The quickest any company can put out new content is about 3-4 months in the MMOworld, now in days a content patch might last two weeks before people begin the proverbial "countdown" until the next patch.

Lets look at World of Warcraft, patch 4.2 came out June 28th, people were bored of it in less than three weeks. Patch 4.3 just released November 29th, so about 5 months of waiting, it is currently December 17th, hours after patch 4.3 went live on November 29th some guilds were already 8/8 bosses killed in the new raid, the worst part is that people are already done with patch 4.3 and counting down the next 5-6 months for the next expansion which people are going to enjoy for maybe three weeks before waiting around for the first content patch.

This is why you can't be hardcore with MMO's anymore, no company can keep up. This is why you're starting to see lots of MMO's going with cash shops/vanity stuff now to nickle and dime people because its hard to retain consistent subs. MMO's are beginning to run their course, most people these days have "been there and done that."
