I think the thing people are missing, is the issue has little to do with new DPS releases as it does with the AWFUL changes made to healers and tanks.
SCH is pretty much worthless and VERY unfun to play. I've said it a million times on here, making us reliant on a now nerfed pet that reacts with all the speed of an elderly women glued to the floor is not fun at all. Fey Union is just as worthless as dissipate.
WHM - While better than SCH due to the kit being mostly unharmed from HW and the addition of Thin Air, the confession system is busted and clearly added on just to add random complexity. Lillies are fine, if a bit silly.
THis means if I want the same kind of fun I had in HW healing I am mostly relgated to AST and some WHM. Many SCH mains are salty as hell right now, and rightly so.
I don't play tanks, but I hear the complaints on here from the non-PLD's.
You don't make the least played groups of classes LESS fun and then expect people to play them.
It costs $50 to get a single new character boosted to the start of Stormblood. I really doubt the number of people doing this is that many.

A lot of people are talking about long queues, damage nerfs, damage discrepancies between similar jobs, etc. The real problem is not mechanics nor number wise. It's an enjoyement problem. I really loved all of the stormblood activities and MSQs so far, cleared all the content and i'm happy with that. But I don't see a reason why I should keep playing as tank since the entire role is not enjoyable anymore (i'm not talking about damage nerf, i'm talking about the absence of rotation fillers, possibility to build up enmity and fill gauges at the same time, absence of satisfying skills to unleash on enemies).
Tanks (as every other role, see SCH) need to be happy while playing their job. If this problems and feedbacks are not looked into, will lead to major problems for the game, since both tanks and healers are essential roles. Now we have 50minutes+queues for dps, roles, but expect them go up over the course of the next months. There's no concrete reason why wait times would go down.
2 new DPS classes I think had less to do with it and more along the lines of what they did to SCH and WHM. Both classes got hit pretty hard with nerfs and ability losses.
Don't forget drk and war. Whm is actually ok in the end but when it comes down to it, if you are not AST or PLD, you are subpar. SE doesn't seem to understand how people play these classes and why they liked it =/ in the vase of whm they seem to not understand the class at all...
edit: I would also like to point out that even the top healer AST, is suffering form the new class gauge offering less options then before (removing royal road) and making AST synergy harder.

Well on our Servers there is almost no Tanks anymore, loads of main-Tanks, myself included, switched to Samurai because they murdered Warrior and DRK.I'm not saying he shouldn't have released during stormblood, but they should've waited a few updates like how they did it with ninja in ARR. Right now there's such a lack of healers and evne the people I play with are a sam or rdm with the ratio being 9:1 for samurai.
So hard to find healers to play with and even if I go heal myself you mostly run into tanks that pull more than I personally can handle atm (considering I haven't played a healer since ARR). Queues are just brutal atm. 50mins for a dungeon that will take less than 30mins to complete....
Or just allow rdm to choose their role and replace verholy or verflare with a Vermedica? (wishful thinking)

I'm playing as RDM and haven't had to wait longer than 30 minutes for any dungeon since launch. Most of the time I get a queue pop in ~20 minutes.
I'm curious where people are that are supposedly having these "insane" queues.
