    My graphics are bugged

My settings are 100% maxed out. ( http://imgur.com/a/q1I6V ) Everything looks fine except the shadows.

When I put "Shadow Softening" on Weak, it looks like this: http://imgur.com/a/Sqcm6
When I put "Shadow Softening" on Strong, it looks like this: http://imgur.com/a/cpxpw

    Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Superclocked ACX 3.0 (not manually overclocked)
CPU: Core i5 4670K (not manually overclocked)
    Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
    RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport - DDR3, 16 GB : 2 x 8 GB
    PSU: Corsair CX750M
Operating System & Version: Windows 10 build 1607 64bit, upgrade from Windows 7
    GPU Drivers: The latest version

Again, no problems in any other games or even this game, it's literally only the shadows :/

    Anyone know a solution?

Try turning off the anti-aliasing. FF14 uses a crappy option that more of makes thing blurry instead of sharping.

I did that and things look better on my 2k than with it on... Go figures.

Off topic (sorry) but does one need to customise the settings to max it out? I just selected maximum and figured that was as good as it gets.

As far as in game settings Maximum on DX11 is as good as it gets in game but you can use stuff like Reshade along side XIV.
