90 day restriction on world transfer

Few friends stuck on Omega, I think they don't make it completely clear that using a data center on another region can mess up your ping. They dangle the incentives, draw people in, and then they are stuck there for 90 days. I don't think the concept of regional data centers is readily understood by every player. By creating these significant incentives, of course you are going to draw a lot of people in. I think those that transferred from NA should be able to pay to return simply because the language behind the new world incentive is not clear in terms of defining what it means to move between regional data centers. Even making it a case by case scenario would be enough (origin world population, character data, etc.) to settle the issue. I can only imagine what it must be like to be stuck in a server you can't actually play too well in for three whole months.

I don't see how they can make it even clearer, what did you think Japan Data Center, North American Data Center and European Data Center meant? Not doing any kind of research before hitting the free transfer button, is not the fault of SE, when clearly it states what data center and region the servers belong too.

Do I think that the 90 days should have been applied? No I don't but I can see why they did it and why it would make sense, and to no time was it hidden or secretive information, that nobody could have found. It's stated clearly on the initiative in a different color, and if you are looking at the forum itself, you would have seen the complain topics about NA servers moving and where they are moving too etc. It should be common sense that when you go to the Japanese data center or the European that the main/native language won't be english lol

Knowing someone with a career in IT, and having worked in some IT departments before I can assure you that literally means nothing to a lot of people. Even when you are switching servers on the client it reads that the closer you are to your data center the better your game play experience will be, but what it doesn't say is that if you get farther away your game play experience may worsen(either significantly or trivially). This has nothing to with language anyway, this has to do with the idea that the average person doesn't understand how ping works, or that it is affected by what data center you are connected to. So when SE offers significant benefit to transfer to an EU server without aptly warning that distance from the data center can seriously affect ping negatively, you are gonna get people that complain about being stuck there for 90 days. This isn't an argument of language barrier at all.

Why Would someone want to pick a data center in different country then what they live in anyways (unless you forced to like living in South America or something). But in the end it a good learning experience for them, SE can't hold their hand all the time.

I'm not sure maybe the number of incentives given by SE, and the unclear information about how moving farther away from data centers can negatively affect gameplay? Just a guess though.

My ping wasn't bad when I moved to EU servers it's only when it became heavily populated did it effect my game play. I'm not blaming SE or anyone but myself I just think 90 days is a bit much coming from someone who has never really played MMOs it's a video game not a permit to a license or a new job why 90 days?

I am sorry i moved over to Omega i did a lot of thinking about moving. I was not expecting them to add another new world so soon or i would have held off.

Omega is not for me i would pay to move somewhere else but i feel now it is congested then maybe they should let us waver the 90 day rule just once. It won't harm anyone by doing this.

I really would like a dev response on this as the world is too big for me personally and i would rather move. I was looking for a new community maybe smaller in numbers.

Yeah I'm from NA and I'd like to go back to the NA Data Center, I was only planning on staying in Omega for three days. I already have enough Crysta to move back.

I'm with you on this one, i never expected all the hate on one post. We aren't blaming SE at all, moving to Omega was our choice. But we also feel that it should be our choice to move back when we want without the restriction of 90 days. I'm more than happy to pay for my transfer back to a NA data center where i am originally from.

Should you have the right to move back? Technically you gave up the right when you agreed to the free transfer. As for the person that transferred and only planned on staying for 3 days what?! Refer to earlier part of post.
