Question to mages that have played post-update (specifically nukers)

I haven't had the opportunity to play, and probably won't for quite a while unfortunately, but there is one thing I've been curious about that I have not seen mentioned yet.

As we all know, water attacks went bye-bye and elements got split between the two mages. Because of this, my thought was that the elemental wheel for resistances would more or less be thrown out of whack unless the developers modified it in some way.

So what I'm asking is, has anyone noticed changes in enemy resistances?

For example, Chigoes were fire element and weak to water. When running through the Lv 25 dungeon I definitely noticed a difference between using Thunder versus Water when nuking large groups of them.

If chigoes were strong against thunder and weak to water wouldn't that make them earth element?

Anyway, for the most part I *like* the idea that the elemental wheel is "broken" and it's not just an issue of picking one of your 6 identical effects to cast on the enemy. That said, I was doing a few solo leves, and figgy puddings *were* pretty annoying to beat on CNJ while in earth-mode (absorb earth, super resistant to thunder, so that left first tier aero and blizzard from THM). And I was fighting some toads on THM and could two shot (Thunder + instant Thundara) things a couple levels higher than me.

    so far all i was able to notice in the business and the confusion was my irritation at the lack of mp, cures, debuffs ...alas was not able to focus on any elemental aspects and resists ; ;

comparing Aero and Stone nukes on Moogles vs. Amal'jaa, I have roughly even numbers between Aero (~300ish dmg) and Stone (~340ish dmg). However, at the Amal'jaa stronghold, my Aero was hitting for only 400ish, while my Stone was hitting for 800ish.

This leads me to believe that either Amal'jaa are now either weak to Earth Magic, or resistant to Wind Magic. The reason I can't really tell is that I'm not sure how much of an effect the level difference between Moogle boss mobs and Lv52 Amal'jaa has on my nuke damage.

Either way, Amal'jaa were weak to wind previously, as they are Fire elemental. It would appear that Fire could be weak to Earth now? (More testing obviously required)

i also hate having only 1 cure option and no enfeebling and extremely high costs of nukes.

The fire series are for AoE nuking, thunder series is for single target spike damage, blizzard is for oh-shi bind and heavy and run.

The past elemental wheel is clearly apparent, and sucks since so many mobs are earth-based and resist lightning.
Ex. Can kill a 53 Ixali with a thunder>thundara>thundaga combo, takes two of these combos to kill a 53 wolf. (and a 45s recast means that's not happening.

Hopefully that sheds some light, I feel very constrained with nuking.

    CNJ has 3 heals.

The name of the game here is that if your unhappy with just one, level it up for the other 2. Thats the premise here. If your unhappy being weaker, then level up your class and/or other classes to utilize abilities to grow stronger.

I mean, honestly, isn't that the general concept of MMOs?

The only thing I really noticed is my THM can actually do some real damage now.

I'm rank 37 right now, and wipe the floor with rank 40 leves that kicked my butt just the day before.

I'm sitll annoyed by the shield changes, however- strangely, I have a very high blockrate, so I'm not really missing the shield actions that much, and the vast increase in power THM got in this update made me real happy. MP management is a little more tricky than it used to be though.

However, I must say the disappearance of water is mystifying.
