Imo and basing it mainly in the values I've seen and the SSS requirements SAM isn't broken and is where it should be, the problem is the other melee jobs, SAM hits hard as advertised. It's seems to be one of those high skill floor but really high hard skill ceiling jobs, easy to play but hard to optimise, which imo you have to hit to justify your position over another job with more utility. Monks not in the worst position compared to SAM, the issue is ninja has received a significant buff considering its utility so Monks have been left in the position of "well why wouldn't we bring a ninja instead" the little utility monk has gained do not make up for the buffs ninja received... and drg, well they got screwed imo, lowest SSS req of the 4.
