yes, there are fights, that force melee put of range,.. and what does Sam have for that problem? a gab-increaser that buffs it's ranged dps move (enpi), followed up by a gab-closer move.., Sam has the perfect solution for such fights,
do mnks and ninja have such perfect answers?. only drg does, but it's dps is/was too low
Even then, DRG "gap closers" are part of the rotation and basically are used on cooldown. The chance that they're up for a given situation is slim.yes, there are fights, that force melee put of range,.. and what does Sam have for that problem? a gab-increaser that buffs it's ranged dps move (enpi), followed up by a gab-closer move.., Sam has the perfect solution for such fights,

They did decrease the coolown of elusive jump now, so I guess you can look away and backflip back the set distance.

MNK's Form Shift and Meditation allow ways to increase/maintain dps while having to peel off the boss. It's not much less effective in terms of damage but it does lack the mobility (and hence fluidity) of dealing with such situations.yes, there are fights, that force melee put of range,.. and what does Sam have for that problem? a gab-increaser that buffs it's ranged dps move (enpi), followed up by a gab-closer move.., Sam has the perfect solution for such fights,

NIN has less damage increasing tools from downtime but are arguably(easily too) the least affected of all the melee by such mechanics and Ninjutsu being ranged is relevant.
I don't think it needs to be equal in that regard, just once everyone has some mechanics that alleviate those disruptions. They all do, and actually I would argue DRG is probably the worst off since their charge is significantly longer while also used for damage. They also didn't get the mobility increases like MNK did.

true, drg use their gab closers as part of their dps rota/burst, ..meaning it might not be up when needed, if the mechanics have strong rng...., unlike Sam that only use/need it for such situations..

That's the thing about Sam, their gap creator is ONLY used for their intended purpose, otherwise it's a DPS loss to try and make it part of their rotation. Same with ninja (and the have increased movement speed). Drgs have to use theirs in their rotation to gain eyes and Mnks really only use theirs for added damage unless they know something is coming that will put them at a distance from the boss. Mnks are much less impacted damage wise by saving/not using shoulder tackle than Drgs.
Sam have that gap closer/increase with Enpi up practical all the time up... and it's still a good dps average compared to the other melee gap increaser/closer (& Sam have by far enough dps)
mnks don't even have a gap increaser and drg elusive jump doesn't do damage

Because it's on a short cool down, but they also aren't used for damage except to close/create distance. If they are used outside of that in a rotation then that Sam is is wasting kenki.
Elusive is also a set distance so you still need to run a bit if it doesn't place you perfectly by where you want to be, and it won't be up if you used Elusive to move out in the first place.
