I'm kind of mystified how you can base your opinion of this game's community off of an entirely different game's community.
Sounds like the perfect wifu to me, complete with absolutely no interactions with other males, SOLD Ill take it
I'm taking a break from the game, but I have a house and I want to keep it, and so I keep paying the sub and logging on. I do the weekly Wonderous Tail quest so I try to do it. I say TRY after suffering from the queue to get in the game, then the disconnects once I'm in, then I wait over 365 minutes to get in a dungeon or raid, while I add stuff to my house and rewatch the anime Bleach, and then I give up. I'm starving!!! 365 MINUTES??? And I stopped there because the REAL number of minutes would been bigger if I would stayed and kept waiting. When the game lauched, I waited 20-25 minutes to get in anything, and 6-9 months ago to recently, it was 10 minutes... but 365 minutes? Serioulsly? This is ridiculous!!!
I GIVE UP ON THE GAME!!!! MAN UP!

This kind of argument has never flown with me when it comes to non-DPS roles. If you're looking for adrenaline fixes through big number parses, tank and healer jobs were never--and should never be--designed for that purpose. I really don't feel sorry for DPS Tanks who made a mockery of the role and forced a STR tank mentality that SE thankfully knocked down late in Heavensward and buried outright in Stormblood.Simply put, DPS roles are more fun, more engaging, more rewarding to optimize, look better, have better impact on their content, and are CLEARLY more favored for attention by the development team. Leveling Samurai alone has been more rewarding than any endgame tanking I've done in years. Why would I ever want to go back to tank, with WAR (my tank of choice) as brutally browbeaten into submission as it has been.
Everything I loved about Heavensward tanking has been nerfed into the floor. All that's left is a shallow, empty, boring husk.

I've always tanked to be an adrenaline junky, in any MMO.This kind of argument has never flown with me when it comes to non-DPS roles. The only sad part is that to satisfy any sort of need for excitement, tanks in XIV pretty well have to be trying to push DPS, not because "zomg it's DPS", but because it's the only other way skill is rewarded or further contribution allowed.
I kind of wonder if 5 man dungeons would be better. More buffs, higher dps, less reliance on individual greatness, less stress on the tank to do fabulous dps while holding threat. Maybe more people would tank if they were less make or break for a group.
Of course, more tank classes would help. Like how hard would it be to make a tank stance for SAM, one that can't be changed once inside an instance? Or doing the same for summoners with their carbuncle. Sure it'd be chaos, but it might be kinda fun, and at least you wouldn't be able to take a nap while waiting for a queue. Food for thought.
Point is to deal damage.
Why shouldn't I? The people act the same way in this game as the others, only SE seems to have more of a handle on the spamvertisements than the other games do, yet botting runs unchecked. If you're wondering where all your healers and tanks are going, check for PotD and low-level queue bots.

Gordias forced a STR tank mentality. No one cared about the change to split str/vit outside of it being a 45/45 split instead of 50/50, which led to a drop in tank dps, which in turn led to tanks losing aggro, and what happened? Squeenix patched enmity modifiers.
In Stormblood they've changed it back to pure strength but tanks have a static amount of strength on their right side gear so history is in effect repeating itself, tanks took a dps hit and are struggling with enmity. Squeenix can patch enmity again but unfortunately it's a compounding problem, DPS jobs' dps, and in turn enmity generation, is going to increase faster than that of the tank jobs. So down the line we'll see this problem crop up again.
You could argue that tanks should just stay in their tank stance and 123 forever but you wouldn't have any tanks left before long.
Because everyone wants to see huge damage numbers on their screen.
Of course there is a *GLARING* opportunity for you to take a tank/healer and make the difference for your duties.
