Angry Changes to accuracy make levelling and some instances obnoxious

I've been levelling some new jobs, and have repeatedly run up against the new system for accuracy. I don't know if in HW or ARR we just were always able to meet acc check for mobs, however since Stormblood it is not consistently possible to do Leves after popping up the difficulty a notch simply due to the non-negotiable debuff of randomly missing on higher level mobs.
If this is still completely intentional, then I would like to posit that instances where we are forced to fight higher level mobs by design likely are not. In particular (because it nearly drove me insane...) The "Hero on the Halfshell" guildhest, in which both the turtle and the fire sprite are level 17, but all party members are level-synced to 16. I missed on that fire sprite 6 times, and it dragged out that guildhest way longer. It's embarrassing that simply due to luck the paladin had to come over and kill it because the new system decided to RNG me into being completely ineffectual against the enemy.

Im having the same problem doing hunt bill marks in the open world, 1-3 levels higher its a coin flip for survival even with my choco set to heals, popping potions and using any defense/recovery CDs i have available.

Honestly pre Stormblood; talking ARR and HW days in which accuracy was a "thing" --- missing the mark was often once you were fighting mobs that were a decent amount of levels above your own, so what your experiencing isn't new. I believe the only significance to the change from "accuracy" to "direct hit" allows for 100% accuracy for mobs that are equal to or below your current level...any above that will experience the same possible miss-miss scenario based on RNG as before Stormblood...so welcome to FFXIV. =D

Chocobo always demolished leves and hunting logs when underleveled. This was never more true than today because Chocobo still get Accuracy bonuses for their skill trees. Also, Chocobos hit really hard.

That facet of accuracy has been around since ARR. If you fight a monster higher level than yourself, you will always run the risk of missing an attack.

Most people were tooling around with enough accuracy on their gear that this pretty much didn't happen unless the mob was 6 or 7 levels above them. So while yes, it was technically possible to miss a mob higher level than you, in pretty much just didn't happen.

This has happened to me a whole bunch of times since SB's change, including on mobs at my level with no obvious accuracy debuff on me or evasion buff on them.

The best is missing the fire 1 necessary to maintain astral fire 3 and therefore also losing enochian. That's pretty special.

I don't know how you missed a mob your level unless they buffed their evasion. I have two 70s on my main and the only times I have missed are when my accuracy is down, their dodge is buffed, or if they are higher level than me. Beyond that, your accuracy should always be 100%.

I don't know how that happened either. But it totally did. I believe this was at level 60 fighting a level 60 mob. I missed. Was really strange.
