There are a lot of ideas floating around for new content so I thought i'd gather them together to HOPEFULLY prevent duplicate posts, I'll bump this from time to time and add any new ideas people come up with.

Competitive Missions
two teams race to complete an objective before the other
IE: two teams fight across two bridges, first team to make it all the way across wins, defeating enemies unblocks roadblocks already on the bridge.
Assaults
( I was gonna say raids but that has a different connotation)
Sort of like behests, they pop every once and a while and a battlewarden signs you up for them, players are then taken to an instanced scenario where they must complete objectives to progress, possibly with a boss at the end. You can easily tie these to the existing lore and give them their own associated stories.
Well this certainly sounds a whole heck of a lot like behests so let me give an example.
When the mission pops a battlewarden shows up in limsa's dock, you sign up for this like you would a normal behest. But when the mission finally starts you are taken to an instance where the people who signed onto your group. (with instancing nobody gets left behind, just divided into groups and the missions can scale) The instance begins with a cutscene of two ships in battle and one getting ready to board the other, players then assume control ,defending their ship and then counter boarding the other, getting below deck and disabling the cannons and finally having a brawl with the ship's captain.
Downside being:well thats a lot of work for devs. Branching paths would help add some lastability to it and give them a little more bang for their buck.
Public quests
Behests are sort of this and sort of not, public quests are open quests that players can drop in on at any time, generally constrained to a small area where all the quest events take place. Generally these cant be soloed and require some teamwork from people who are not necessarily partied together (it can be cumbersome to have to invite a player who wants to help out but got there mid battle)
Supply run
Generally people detest escort quests but hear this one out.
like behests players would sign up for this one and would be limited to a certain amount of players per supply run. players would then escort a cart that travels from Hamlets to town from raiders.
