Is queue time just a part of the normal game now?

I'm really considering maybe moving off balmung but I do have a house and don't really want to go through the hassle of buying a new house and losing most my stuff in my house since it mostly decorated with non-retrievable items. So I'm really torn right now if I value my play or my house with all the stuff in it more.

The exploiting is a bit out of hand, can't even get into apartments now because the instance server for them is full with people afking indoors!

I am talking about expanding individual server load. And on top of that, i briefly considered moving but they have Ragnarok listed as "normal server" and not congested. Normal server...with 3k queue. So i would have to pay to move. Give them more money for their incompetence.



How many people do you think do that? 500? 1000? heavily inflating numbers and i still dont see how would that help a 4-5k queue every day.

2000+ easily on Balmung it's become an epidemic at this point even in the middle of the day the queue can be at 100-200 and still take over 30 minutes because no one is logging off.

If you don't want queues, transfer off Balmung. It's free right now if you go to a preferred server.

And no, "I shouldn't have to transfer" is not a valid reply. If you choose to play on the most overcrowded server, then you are choosing to accept queues. That's the nature of the beast. If your FC is there, convince them to go with you or decided which is more important to you.

It's not SE's fault that you're playing on the most overcrowded server. You have the opportunity to transfer off for free, so if you choose not to, that's entirely on you. Other NA servers are having no problems, so it's up to you to make the decision.

Read first post... It wasn't the "most overcrowded server" when 2.0 launched, which is when i started playing. Why should I get screwed off the server I've been in since launch because SE didn't limit registrations early enough?

Ya'll chose Balmung and Gilgamesh. You saw long ago it was on a track to destruction and when it hit the fan, you want SE to fix the issue when they have already offered an out. The endless "I shouldn't be the one that has to move for X reason" is the very reason that SE will eventually have to force some of you to move or split that server. And when that happens, the crying on here will be intense.

Server switches suck, but good, fun people and FC's exist everywhere.

I'm seriously getting sick of people using the over generalized statement of "well you chose Balmung lulz." Some of us did not. Some of us were here since 2.0. My character is from 1.0, so Balmung was one of the few (legacy) servers I was ALLOWED to be on. /eyeroll

This is absolutely ridiculous how much more significant the queue times have gotten since around Monday. That was around the same time that the afk exploit was stupidly spread around so now EVERYONE is doing it. Yes, it is significantly affecting the server, to say otherwise is moronic.

Earlier today, at like 12-1ish in the afternoon, the apartment building in Ul'dah was so crowded that I could not enter the building. I got an error message saying the zone was full. This was most likely from the number of people trying to hide being afk. Especially since people are trying to scare others into thinking they can get banned for it when in reality SE will do nothing about the exploit.

A 2-3 hour queue when people who work full time jobs have only a few hours to play each night is ridiculous.

Also the dc'ing issue has not gotten any better. I have been disconnected 3 times in the past three days from just roaming around an area, not loading into an instance or anything.

I've been on Balmung since it's inception. Got migrated over from the 1.0 Besaid server. Snarky comments like "you chose balmung" by 12 year old kids doesn't help. I don't understand why so many characters were allowed to be created/migrated onto the server leading to this over saturation. These login queues are way out of control and it's understandably frustrating when you only have a couple hours to play.

I transferred over a year ago I think. I'd transferred cause pf was dead, hunts and fates were impossible to do, and I've never even been in diadem. If they would have fixed the dead servers with mergers, I wouldn't have transferred in the first place. I even gave up a house to move. If s/e wants me to move again...give me a house and reimburse my original transfer fee.
