No, login queues are not the new normal. This only affects a small fraction of the game's servers -- on all the others, you can pretty much log in with no wait at any time.

Only reason I could say it ok to avoid the afk time out if like if have to get eat dinner or something and the the queue to log back in would be longer then what you would be gone. So if you going to be gone for an hour and the login queue is 4 hours I could see that. But that ones I do find selfish are the one that leave their system on 24/7 while they sleeping or at work yea those guys are A##holes.

ppl start to log on and stay afk in the monring before work, as u can see them doing it.
but there is no queue to get into the server all monring, and during the noon.
so the theory its all to blame on AFK ppl is incorrect.
its the actual number of players playing.
(plus SE implemented a restriction on the number of people able to play right now, to help the servers stay up. which is another reason u see a queue now, instead of before. The queue was actually shorter before this limitation, so quite literally most of the queue stems from the limited number of people allowed online, compared to the normal prior to this hotfix.)

I am talking about expanding individual server load. And on top of that, i briefly considered moving but they have Ragnarok listed as "normal server" and not congested. Normal server...with 3k queue. So i would have to pay to move. Give them more money for their incompetence.
How many people do you think do that? 500? 1000? heavily inflating numbers and i still dont see how would that help a 4-5k queue every day.The real problem is people don't log out and exploit ways to avoid the AFK timer, thus available spots on overcrowded servers rarely come up. I'd imagine Balmung and Gilgamesh times would drop to about 20-30 mins (which is about what the queue time is on Balmung when new patches come up) if all of these people weren't staying in a constantly logged in state.

Yesterday 3:30 pm middle european time, queue: place 120

They're listed as new worlds, not preferred worlds. So it's apparently free to move from any server to a "New World", so you might not have to pay them.I am talking about expanding individual server load. White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

On a server like Balmung where unofficial census placed the ACTIVE population in May at 20k and that number has likely doubled since Stormblood released, I don't find it unlikely that 5-10% of the population would utilize the exploit especially when faced with extremely long queues. Assuming no one at all came back for Stormblood 5% of 20k would be 1000 people.
2000+ easily on Balmung it's become an epidemic at this point even in the middle of the day the queue can be at 100-200 and still take over 30 minutes because no one is logging off.I am talking about expanding individual server load.
