"Default Job Gear" option in Dungeons / Raids

I don't really see how this feature will help during more hectic scenarios. Gear is still gear. Marks. name plates, animations, how they are carrying their weapon, etc are better means to recognize a certain party member.

You mentioned a Tank swap as a situation where it would benefit you, if they would be shown in their Job Gear set. I personally study the mechanics of the raids, so that i know when the tank swaps or adds phase will be happening. Prior to that, i look for my tanking buddy based on his/her name plate. Next to that, when a tank swap is supposed to take place, your fellow tank should know when it happens as well, so that (s)he can can prepare for the actual swap.

In light of that, i don't really see the benefit of the feature you're requesting.

Just mark your tanks and healers then?

Marking key party members is the fastest way to see where they are.

I wouldn't mind an option to turn off horrible glamours. So many people have NO idea how to color coordinate their character with their gear and break immersion everytime I see them. An option to default people would be fine be me.

I mean on gamepad all i need to do is just hit the up and down button on the directional buttons to click on my healer or tank.

Or they can add a shield/sword/cross next to their names in instanced content.

Maybe because its also an mmo and thus some QoLs will trump the game's lore.

Well... because following that argument you'd also have to disable random jumping for everyone and display everyone with lore appropriate names and... uh... prevent just about anything else that could be considered lore-breaking or un-immersive. Your own name would have to be changed to something more Highlander appropriate.

Truth be told, you'd even have to create a chat filter that transforms messages, as the way we as players talk is a very far shot from the way NPCs commonly do. It's typically not at all lore appropriate.

If you take the argument seriously, it leads to rather funny results.

If I am to understand this, this will just be on your client side correct? If it is not checked on my side, then I still see the glamours? If that is the case, I would be fine with it. Have fun seeing the hideous armor designs clearly made for females on male casters though.

I was thinking he'd enjoy the piece-mail effect most raiders get when they don't glamour. Min/maxing comes with the downside of not looking good without glamour.
