Large hidden spawns crashing zones is sadly nothing new.

The good old jokes of Odin using Zantetsuken on the server... It's been a long time since then... /look-into-the-distance

However, I believe we have a much larger player base (surge) now with the reputation gained and recent aggressive advertisements. Not only that, considering the fate require an item drop from a map (I don't know how rare it is) to proceed with the fate, I think some kind of temporary band aid isn't too much to ask for? Of course that depends on how difficult/costly it takes to implement said band aid.

So Ixion just spawned on Phoenix. People gathered up, fought and during the fight the instance 3 crashed and made everyone disconnect. The instance vanished and did reset, so now the fate is gone. DDoS excuse? Nope. Just your servers.

EDIT: just happened again.

That's just too many people in one instance. Happened the other day on Cactuar when Foxy Lady spawned in one of the Yanxia Instances. Over 400 people in there trying to do the FATE, and most of us ended up red-dotting the majority of the FATE, so we only got bronze. Sadness.
