Talking with my better half, we thought it would be fun do do some D&D Adventurer's League games in Final Fantasy. We've created some tables that allow you to translate /random rolls into die rolls of various sizes, so now you can play D&D while you're in Final Fantasy, so you can game while you game!

If anyone's interested in this experience, I can do up to 7 players on a table. Relevant materials can be obtained for free from the System Reference Document here, though more advanced characters will involve acquiring (hopefully legal) copies of the Player's Handbook and its suppliments. If requested, I can also create pregenerated characters. The games tend to take around 2-4 hours to run depending on the module, though they may take some additional time if we wind up with a lot of players that are new to D&D 5th Edition.

While the Adventurer's League missions are fairly simple and don't allow for much wiggle room in terms of exploration or bending the rules, the major advantage is that your character is portable to any other Adventurer's League play. If you want to make your character with our group, then take that character to a convention or to your local game store, you can totally do that! My purpose for running these games is that they take very little setup on my part, and allow me to test the viability of running perhaps other games (like Iron Kingdoms or Legend of the Five Rings or just other roleplaying games in general). Playing inside Final Fantasy obviously isn't the most advantageous way to play, but part of the fun is roleplaying your characters roleplaying other characters. At least... I think that's fun
