    A question for RDM players.

Been playing the class since launch, love it so far and want to main it through out Stormblood but I just noticed something that got me wondering.

Verthunder and Veraero both have a potency of 300 but Verfire and Verstone are 270 with no bonus to damage when procced as far as I can tell.

Why would I cast them then when procced? Would that not be a loss in dps? Would it not be better to just cast Veraero and Verthunder and ignore them? Not only that but they only add 9 to the mana gauge where as the first spells add 11. Am I missing something here? Only bonus I can see is about a 100 point difference in MP cost... So when you wanna conserve MP, maybe?

They're meant to replace Jolt / Jolt 2 / Impact. They have higher potency than the Jolts and generate more mana than Impact.

Ahh, thank you that makes more sense.

I'm going to assume you've been using Jolt I/II to proc Dual Cast and then instant casting your Verareo/Verthunder, not just hard casting your Verareo/Verthunders then Dual casting them. Verstone/Verfire replace JoltI/II in that rotation, not Verareo/Verthunder.

Yeah, of course. But I was just misunderstanding where in the rotation Verstone and Verfire went. Thought they were meant to replace Verareo/Verthunder and you used Jolt to dualcast everything. The fact that they have the same cast time as JoltI/II totally escaped me. I probably should have mentioned I'm new to maining DPS been Healer up to this point. Just trying to make sure I learn the class correctly before I go and try to play it at endgame. Thanks for the help!
