Best resources for Information

Years ago, I found tons of newbie info on various unofficial websites. I'm now returning and I'm finding much of the information stale or I simply can't find it at all. I'm aware of XIVDB, Garland tools, /r/ffxiv and their list of resources, but again, I feel lost trying to find fresh guides, fishing tools that aren't exclusively for big fish, or useful comments and screenshots below tool tips like there once was. I do find a lot of outdated stuff... Anyone know what I can do?

I don't know if there's a list of ressources anywhere, but at least for fishing, there's http://en.ff14angler.com.

https://www.ffxivguild.com has some nice leveling guides for gatherers and crafters, but the layout is messed up for me right now.
When starting your grand company squadron, you may find http://ffxivsquadron.com helpful. If you're looking to decorate your house or apartment, http://en.ff14housing.com has got your back, but the most important tool of them all is unquestionably http://ffxivchocobo.com. ;)

Thanks for the leads. I appreciate your help. We went 4 - 7 which I can't complain about.

The housing, squadron, gardening, and chocobo "sites" are great. They have chosen a single system and made an easy button for everyone. They are basically apps and awesome so long as you need info about those four things. I don't have much to say about the other three. One was worthless, one would trigger even an amateur coder, the other was a compilation of tool tips parsed from the Lodestone. Only one gave me what I needed, but somebody pass me the the eye bleach.
