A playable race limited to a single gender just wouldn't work out well at all. They tried that back in 1.0 and it was heavily criticised - and rightly so. Gender locked races/classes just aren't fun or an efficient use of resources.

It's just a race like the hyur or elezen. Hydaelyn can't be racist nor picky, when everything's in chaos.

Hydaelyn may not be picky, but the rest of the "human" races certainly are. Even if most races are not outright genocidal like the Garleans, there's no way that it would make any sense for beastmen to progress through the main scenario quests without some mighty significant changes. The odds of SE adding a separate "beastman path" Main Scenario to the game are ridiculously small...

It's not out of the question that we may someday lets us play as beastmen for isolated content (some form of PvP, for instance), returning to our regular player characters after the instance is over, but they will likely never be added as a fully-fledged playable race.
