If SE ever thinks of making any beast tribe a playable race, please make it be the Ananta!
I always wanted to be a half-snake in an MMO and to be a Lamia is what I strive for.

Plus, there are Anantas in the game already holding different types of weapon. Thanks in advance!

Not really a fan of the race ( in ffxiv ) ... but thats mostly only cause they floating in the air.

The only way any beast tribe will ever be playable is if we get some kind of PvP deathmatch mode where one team is assigned alliance members and the other team gets assigned beastmen. Ergo, us not being the WoL.

The WoL CANNOT be a beastman. The lore simply doesn't allow it

It's just a race like the hyur or elezen. Hydaelyn can't be racist nor picky, when everything's in chaos.

It'll never be playable, because there aren't any male Ananta canonically. SE has moved away from that archaic and sexist attitude since 2.0 launched, with the inclusion of Male Miqo'te and Female Roegadyn.

That said, I'm in favor of Beast Tribes offering rewards at max reputation which allow the player to essentially glamour themselves into a member of that Beast Tribe. It should help go a long way to alleviate peoples desire to play certain Beast Tribes. Just make the buff last until turned off, persist through combat and character death, no duration, no cool down on the item, all of that.

In any case, the WoL is somebody that people have to look up to and trust, and there is a side quest where somebody who has never seen an Ananta freaks out and tries to kill her before asking any questions. If the WoL were a beastman, people would be more afraid of them, rather than trust them

So yeah, beastmen races are off the table.

And nothing says "trust" as much as a barbarian from the steppes with glowing killer eyes born from a tribe known for violence that people in Ishgard slew on sight not long ago for looking vaguely draconic.
