I can't help but wonder if the "ire" would have been a lot less vehement if this had been speculation on a straight couple. Too many people get up in arms about folk "shoving they gay agenda down our throat".

Queer gray ace wlw who can and may ship whoever I want but there's less shipping involved here and more of "confirmation of a couple". Instead of the far reach in insisting it's true, I doubt it would have drawn as much ire if it was stated as mere fan shipping.

For my part in this whole argument, I wouldn't have cared if it was something like, "I wonder if this is possible?" I don't care if Lyse or Alisae are into women. What I care about is the statement as confirmation of fact without any real evidence that they are a couple based upon one single scene and a very typical expression of friendship. I'd be just as much up in arms about someone pushing a relationship between a pair like Slafyrsyn and Merlwyb (even though the two talk like they're an old married couple anyway) or such. There's just nothing there and this statement is a reach trying to state something as truth without anything to support it.

I'm okay with it. I don't mind the ambiguity, and it's fine either way as long as people aren't projecting things onto the characters without any real substantiation behind it and waving around like a flag and calling it canon.
