Sightseeing Embarassment

I know, I know, everyone is excited about Stormblood and literally no one cares about this but...

I'm pretty new to this game, and I decided to give the sightseeing log a whirl, with the help of a website.

But entry #009...I can't do it. It's in the Leatherworking Guild, where you get on top of that rack. I *can't*. Like, I've watched videos, studied frames on what people in said videos are doing, read guides. Tried varying all sorts of stuff. I've tried so much, I should've done it by accident at this point. None of my friends can make this jump, either. Now mind, I didn't get around to this until post 4.0 patch, where the timing to sprint changed. I can't imagine this changed, but I cannot make this jump.

It's frustrating to the point of I wonder if something is straight up wrong. Can anyone confirm that this is actually still possible? I'd rather be told "I just did it, you're terrible, git gud" than go on wondering if maybe something is amiss at this point.

It is possible I promise. It's just a bit of a pain. I actually had more trouble falling onto the proper light in Ul'Dah.

Haha. I pulled off the Ul'Dah light one on my first try. Even the waterfall one in Gridania after a couple. But I've probably tried this a thousand times now, and no dice. I feel like the world's worst everything.

Ugh that waterfall jump. Some of the ones after this are pretty tricky. For the guild though my best advice is try to jump like you are trying to go through the wall.

Can you be a little more specific? Are you using a controller? You mean press against the wall as you jump or...?

Nope I use mouse and keyboard. I just pretended that I was aiming for the spot the wall occupies instead of aiming for the rack itself.

I found it very difficult as well, until I tried with NIN, which has the Fleet of Foot trait, increases movement speed. It was just enough to get me that little bit further. I've seen it done without, but it seemed a lot easier that way.

Hardest one is without a doubt the jump onto that wood log in North shroud. Please look forward to it xD

As for the leatherworking guild one, keep trying, it's got a bit of a nasty angle you need to make that jump at, if I remember this right.

Ironically, I've been trying to do this too. I even purchased one of those optional items that boost you to level 60 for NIN so that I could use the Fleet of Foot trait. Still no luck.... oddly enough, I have the other 19 needed for the first part of the quest. After trying this same jump over, and over for the past 6 hours.... I honestly am considering breaking the ToU at this point.
