Can we please also have swimming in other 2.0 and 3.0 areas?

I was so excited to hear that they redid costa del sol for swimming, but was utterly disappointed that that was the only old area where we could swim. Now it would have been the perfect time to get rid of all the stupid invisible walls that plague old areas and lets us swim. North shroud is still triggering me hard (That river you have to cross by bridge because invisible walls are prohibiting you from crossing it by river), please make the river and water areas swimmable, I do not even need the ability to dive, I just want the world feel less restrictive. If there is one thing I hate in this game it's how restrictive the maps are, and this would be a huge step towards better enviroment.

some of those invisible walls are there for a reason, it might break the structure of the game if you could just swim anywhere with water. the same reason why there's no flying in the pre lvl 50 areas.

Yeah some obviously are, but there are also so many that are not and are there simply because going to water wasnt possible in the past. Take for example Fallgour Float, the whole water area beneath it could easily be swimmable. Maybe some zones would need a minor reconstructing, but I think it would be such a huge step to making the world less restrictive.

I honestly would have loved to take a dip in the oasis that is in the Goblet. I was a bit disappointed that you can't swim by the waterfall coming from the main tower.

The "perfect" time to get rid of all the invisible walls does kind of assume that they would have had the development time to make that change for every feasible swimming location (or even most of them), as it's sadly not as simple as just removing invisible walls.

It's likely that none of those areas even have collision detection, so they'd have to add in the type they having for swimming on the surface, plus transition zones (aka where you go from being on land to in the water), and of course the testing to make sure they are all correctly added so players don't get stuck or fall through the world, or create any other bugs/issues with the zone itself (in short, they'd have to QA it).

I certainly believe it's doable over time to make more and more of the rivers and lakes places you can swim in (and believe we should keep asking for them to add them), but I think it's a bit optimistic to think that it would have accompanied the expansion (which are generally known for their all hands on deck approach, leaving little time for things lower on the priority list).

Fair point, I dunno how meaningful this is to people but to me personally this would mean a lot. I also am not sure how much work it would actually require, I would imagine not so much as you would only need to remove the walls and add swimmable water there. EDIT: of course some places require more than others, and I do not expect this to happen in an instant, but by adding more and more places where to swim with updates and eventually having all the old zones supporting it.

They are thinking about this. They don't want to imbalance the housing areas that has a lot of water so they are holding off on it right now.

I don't get why they added swimming. It's added nothing to the game and it's done horribly. Jump in water? Linger there for a second. Dive? Have a loading screen. Wanna move your camera below the surfice while not submerged? El Oh El. The entire underwater areas is solely built for gatherers and a couple of quests. The dev time would have better been spent anywhere else.
