    Kugane Sightseeing Jump Puzzle

I really liked the jump puzzle in Kugane. I hope more get added in the future!

For those that need some help getting up top, I made a short video with some tips:

You can use ninja to make the last jump, just do Shukuchi and jump forward (not just jump up) at the exact same time with Shukuchi pressed first. Don't try to delay the jump forward. It might take a few tries. It's the same Idyllshire rock jump.

Good god, no. Not unless SE wants to adjust character controls so that you can actually control how far you jump...

This is not a good game for jump puzzles, sorry. I'm sure the guide will be helpful to some, but I hope it's the last jump puzzle I ever see in ffxiv.

Half the time you were standing on nothing and jumping onto nothing. I wouldn't classify that as a good puzzle. Jumping in this game is not well done.

Well said my friend. I personaly like that parkour "track". I find it a nice addition to kill time. I also find it reasonable for people not to like it. Very understandable. But what I dont get is how can anyone be that hateful about it. Only thing i can imagine is that he failed so many times and he is just venting.

This game is horribly designed for jump puzzles. You have very little control over your character when you jump. Invisible hitboxes are everywhere. It is perfectly reasonable to hope that this is the last one SE does unless they actually make an effort to fix those two things. Otherwise it's just poorly implemented content.

It feels like SE saw that other games had jump puzzles and wanted to implement them without actually thinking about what makes jump puzzles successful in other games.

The fact that some players are able to do the jump puzzle in under 1 minute after practicing is clear evidence that people have enough control over jumps to do this kind of content. Just watch some of the videos from that 1 channel among the many of people who are having fun with this 1 small side thing.

It's not that it should never be updated it's just that jumping and hit boxes need to be adjusted first before more are added. You have to admit bad camera angles, invisible walls, and invisible platforms is not good design for this sort of thing.

You literally have to jump on invisible hitboxes. That screams poorly designed.

I enjoy jump puzzles in games like GW2 and WildStar, but at least there you don't have to deal with crappy collision. Heck in WS you get double jump.

If a game dev wants to implement a feature, there's no reason to half-ass it.
