Eternity Rings Broken

Since 4.0 my wife and I cannot use the rings at all. We get "unable to leave the area" errors each time. I'm going to presume this is another broken item on SE list?

in the new area, it wont work until you can fly, it was like that in 3.0

It's also the instancing put in place to control congestion in the new areas - it was the same with Heavensward as well, in that the Eternity Ring also did not work in those areas originally. But when the instancing of the new zones was removed the teleport function of the ring started working (as long as you unlocked flight in that area, as Alexia mentioned).

This is also the reason why you can't use it to teleport to your partner inside a private house or personal chambers, those areas are instanced too.

So it's working as intended I'm afraid - to put it simply, the Eternity Ring will not work in Stormblood areas until two requirements are met:

SE removes the instancing on Stormblood zones once the amount of players accessing those zones eases off (which could take a few weeks to a month or two).
You and your partner both unlock flight in each zone.
