Can you switch to Dark Knight on a freshly boosted character?

My plan is to use a job boost to make one of my new character a lvl 60 Warrior.

I actually want to play Dark Knight but don't feel like going through the hassle of leveling to 50 just to switch. So i thought i'd boost as a Warrior to begin my adventure as a lvl 30 Dark Knight.

Is it possible? Can the quest to become a DRK be accessed as a boosted character? Or do i also have to pay to complete the main scenario before i can even access the class?

Any complication? Could i start questing at lvl 30 or would i have to rush through the lvl 1-30 main quests first?

Well thanks for the support, i don't want to pay and then ruin my experience, i want to enjoy leveling a bit on a DRK.

Interesting, the starting area for DK is in heavensward, so I'm not sure you can get to initiate DK without ARR being completed.

Correct, you can't pick up either of the HW classes until you've finished all of the ARR MSQ, since they start in Ishgard. That's one of the reasons they changed it so RDM/SAM start in Ul'Dah in SB. That said, I -think- the MSQ boost potion gives you access to Ishgard right away, so you should be able to pick the class up as long as you're at least lvl 30 (I never actually checked the quest level requirements, but it might just be 50 since you'd have to be 50 normally)? Of course, this runs the problem of skipping all of the MSQ story, which is actually very good.

Would you be able to purchase two jump potions I wonder? One for just to jump to post-ARR as a vanilla Job, unlock DRK, then grab another potion to jump you to 60?

Don't know anything about jump potions other than different types.. Kind of curious though for an alt someday. I recall they said its only one per account, does that mean just one of each type, or one of any type is all.

Kind of sucks, I hope the OP gets a solution that isn't, "jump to Stormblood, but go back and lvl DRK/AST from their starting lvl30"

The plan to boost WAR to unlock DRK won't work very well, as you still have to access HW zones to unlock it yourself.

The Main Story Quests cannot be skipped (without the appropriate story skip potion), so boosting or unlocking any job still requires completing the lower level story quests.

However, if you have Heavensward registered to your account (whether you bought it previously, or bought Stormblood which also includes Heavensward), you meet the requirements to purchase the DRK job potion, which will unlock the job to 60 and give you gear, even if you have yet to complete the ARR story.
If your goal is to get DRK at minimum level (30) to spend time leveling it yourself, you will have to meet the normal requirements, which means having a class at 50 and completing the ARR story to unlock HW zones, where you can accept the quests to unlock DRK yourself, which will be level 30 (so 20 levels lower than the story quests available at that point). This can also be accomplished by purchasing any job potion (such as WAR) as well as the ARR story potion, which will skip you straight to the start of HW content so you can unlock the job yourself.

If your goal is to have DRK available to continue with the story where you are at, you can buy the DRK job potion, and you will be a level 60 Dark Knight progressing through the story.

This. You will still have to have registered Heavensward/Stormblood, but you don't have to be in the Heavensward part of the story to use the DRK MCH AST boosts.

Can you use a boost if you haven't actually unlocked the class yet? Would the boost potion give you the DRK soul crystal? I actually hadn't thought about the leveling potion being available to you from having HW/SB on your account.
