If we had higher costs for things I'd never afford anything. You rich folks need to understand not everyone has more than a million gil at any one time, I certainly don't.

i sell battlecraft and feildcraft materia for teleport money, i do the lvl 50 dungeons desnth the gear and hope i get craft materia to sell for the 20k, it helps and makes up for some money, also lvling a gather gets money to as most base mats in certain servers can be sold for a ton of money, selling maps from the WT books also works, or running them, selling dungeon gear from low lvl dungons also works too. Sending retainers out on ventures for crafting mats and selling those works too, war retainers can get those. just cruise the board and if you end up with 10k by the end of the week like me because you love to port everywhere/ buy glamours a lot or change hair a lottttttttttttttttttttttt it helps a ton ^^

That's why I have Kugane as my home point and abuse the cheaper apartment teleport to get back.I noticed the cost of teleports are 999 when you go from Eorzea to Othard or the other way Othard to Eorzea. This might not seem like much but it adds up fast if you are doing hunts.
Is there any plan to lower teleport prices because seeing 999 for many teleports makes it so expensive.
A little late to the party. However thought I would say I don't think they are to expensive if anything at higher level they are a bit cheep.
I don't teleport in FF14 never have never will I like to run and use the boats makes the game world feel big, lets me harvest as i go as well as letting me meet and chat to new players. If you want to bounce around jumping here and there the cost needs to be high enough to make you weigh up the option making the game quicker for you and making the game feel lived in.

No denial on my part that they can get expensive. I am quite sure for some players, the average weekly costs for ports can get upwards towards six figures.
How much a player ports and how much it costs them is not really where I am going with this though. Each player needs to develop their own equilibrium with the game's economy, and it is entirely on each individual player to do so.
Porting for things like hunts/quests/collectibles are almost always negated by the gil reward. The game also has so many ways to reduce port costs. You should also be thankful because I believe the costs of ports are calculated by a percentage, which means if they weren't capped at 999, we would easily be paying more for trips from west to east and vice versa.
I also recommend not being in such a rush. Take the long route once in a while to save yourself some gil. Just like how continuously porting adds up, so does saving gil by not using it.
If you are having problems with teleport money, you might want to consider how you're spending it.
I'm barely 4 months into this game and I already have a small house and just spent 600k on my level 70 codex. My balance is at 242k right now. I got lots of worries, but teleport gil is not one of them.
If anything, I'm in awe at how well the system flushes excess gil out of the system and keeps mmoflation from going completely nuts.

Is it sorta pricey if you're a penny pincher? Probably. However, 999 gil is basically pocket change.
