Do we have lore yet for the teleport costs in Othard? Eorzea teleport costs help fun the rebuild from the calamity IIRC. Othard was not affected by this. I'm guessing an 'international travel tax' is the reason, but not sure.

That's how it is essentially in real life. The farther you live from a travel destination, the more it costs. Like if you got a domestic flight in the US, it is usually very cheap. But like when I went to Japan to see my girlfriend at the time, it was $1,500 or so.

Honestly, I think the teleport costs should be able to breach beyond 999 gil.

In the grand scheme of things, 999 gil really is not that much. i have a steady total of approximately 3~3.5 million gil, and that's considered as "little" by a significant part of the playerbase! And just look at the amount of gil people who actually bother to use their crafting and gathering classes are making. Hell, I don't use gathering and crafting professions at all, I get my gil exclusively from drops, roulettes and putting random junk I find on the marketplace, and still these prices of 999 gil per teleport are not making me any poorer.

Not to mention, it's a good way to at least try and regulate inflation a little bit. There isn't really a lot of things you can spend gil on in this game, except for raid consumables and maybe very rarely a pet or a mount. But that's about it. You can get anything else practically for free, through grinding, or through currencies that are not gil.

Send your retainers on the 18hour ventures. At level 60 they come back with 6 of the 500gil Allagan items. At 70, they can come back with 7 of them. If that isn't enough to cover your teleport costs, then sell whatever you find during dungeons/hunts(another source of gil) on the MB. Look at what they are selling for currently, and sell what you have around that amount. It really isn't hard to get gil in this game(and I don't craft/gather much aside from getting my daily Gazelle Skin map).

I dont want to be rude or something.. but how can one fully experience player with lv 70 class thinks teleporting is expensive? 999 gils is mega cheap lmao. Do a leveling roulette as tank/hlr get cluster and sell it for 100k. Easy peasy.

Even just the completion of the roulette gives you a bunch of gil. Pretty sure every roulette gives some as a reward for finishing it too.

It's hard for me to complain about the teleporting prices in this game when i can so vividly remember the teleporting system and prices in XI.

Let's maybe be glad we don't have to rely on other people for teleporting and that its handled via an in game system (for much cheaper, i might add).
