What is this new anti dps healer attitude?

yes. I'm basically being harassed for helping with dps as a healer.

Are you letting people die? If so than you aren't doing your job and should focus more on healing.

Is everyone surviving and doing a good job? Then tell the dps to stop watching you and go back to doing damage. Seriously what pos dps can notice a healer doing damage when the boss is covered in a million other explosions and spell effects.

Everyone seems to think that they're an expert when it comes to healing, though, like my friend who calls out every debuff and says 'heal please' periodically as though I'm sleeping at the wheel despite having been our group's main healer for about 15 years across multiple games. I've developed my own sadistic minigames for him in retaliation to keep things exciting, such as the 'how low can his HP go before I Benediction?' game (which was more fun when I stayed in CS) and the 'Regen for everyone, enjoy working twice as hard' minigame. I think non-healers get a bit paranoid about their HP levels if they don't trust the healer, and since it's quite easy to die in FFXIV they're just being insecure. Maybe the tanks are feeling wobbly without their Stoneskin/Bloodbath and massive array of old cooldowns too.

Yes, I thought so at first too...that it was some sort of new design. And maybe it even IS a little. But I have done some content with premades now and I can say that it worked just fine, almost the same as in HW.
And its even more ridiculous when youre a WHM, you can dps SO much. Yes, there is more to heal,but at the same time, I dont have the cleric stance lock out anymore, which makes up for it...which btw IMO still is the strongest indicator

I would appreciate you reading the entry post at the VERY LEAST before engaging in a discussion. Because then you wouldve had your answer.

99% of people dying is their own fault due to standing in the bad. People rarely die due to me dpsing.
I am already forced to dps less because some tanks are too squishy and cba.

To be fair you can always do more in premades than pugs. Keep this in mind At least until what inposted above is proven or disproven.

Welcome to the upside down.

It's very, very, easy for healers to DPS now, but it's also revealed how many tissue-paper tanks there are, basically tanks that gear for DPS, not tanking. Also the ones that don't use cooldowns and ones who run with without shield oath still.

I know it's easy to forget about the tank cooldowns, just like it's easy to forget about mana recovery on a healer.

Paladins appear to be the least squishy.

On HW, you basically had too many things to use as WHM, and CS was basically an annoyance.

On SB, you can unload Holy, Assize, Aero III, Aero II, and then come back to healing all in about the same time it used to do a CS round trip.

It seems to happen a lot with whm for me. Run in grab everything, pop Blood Price, watch my mp....stay there because the healer wants to be a black mage with Holy spam.

Now I appreciate a good Holy spam, I do, but please, /please/ save it for when Blood Price wears off. That way you can Holey without being holey.

I suspect it largely has to do with people making mistakes, especially since plenty if entirely new. Instead of taking it on the chin, they look for someone else to blame. DPSing healers are an easy target because they'll justify their stupidity with "you should have healed me through that aoe I could have easily avoided!"

Of course, some healers are bad themselves and too easily tunnel their DPS. Way I see it, just ignore people who whine and keep going.

Actually, you should be holding off Blood Price. Holy spam does significantly more damage than anything a DRK can do. So WHM takes priority.

Please keep in mind, I keep my mouth shut about this during runs, but this is something I have noticed. I have noticed Healers running out of mana a lot faster this expansion, so I would prefer that they focus on healing and not dpsing until they get better gear to handle it. Am I going to kick or yell at one in a party for this? No, because I have enough respect for the person(unlike some who play) that I know I don't pay their sub. They can choose to play how they choose.

I would just like to point out again that I do NOT tunnel vision when dpsing and people dying is rarely my fault. Sure it happens, but its the exception and couldve easily happened without me dpsing too (distractions etc.)
I still know that I am first and foremost a healer, thank you.


People b'tch at me when no one has even died. My main insta-heal essential dignity becomes stronger the less HP the tank has....Ofc Im not gonna use it when the tank is at 80% health.
I also place my earthly star so it has time to turn into giant dominance, and then I pull the trigger as needed and Boom, strong Insta Heal. It is intentional to let the tank's hp drop down.

Actually, you should be holding off Blood Price. Holy spam does significantly more damage than anything a DRK can do. So WHM takes priority.

This. Keep your Blood Price in check for a couple of seconds until mobs become resistant to my stun (takes 3 Holy casts), then use it. Everything else is a huge dps loss.

This is only true at the lower levels of Stormblood. Im sitting on 1300-1400 piety on my lvl 70 ast. But even before, it was a bit tough on MP but still entirely possible.
